If you love great stories...
Played this for the first time in 2013 and had a replay in 2018 (Steam). I dunno about GOG, who tend to be amazing with this kind of stuff, but the Steam version required 3rd party software and a little patience to get working without technical issues, like mouse trailing. That aside... While I will always swear to Broken Sword as the best point'n'click ever, Longest Journey is a close second. Mysterious, grapping, filled with fascinating locations and creatures. Deep lore, great dialogue and a wonderful protagonist, whose role in the ongoing debacle remains mysteriously unclear and changing as you go along. Which is what you do: go along. Thrust into strange truths and new worlds, April can only go along and learn as she goes. It creates amazing pacing, which miraculously never overwhelms you. Insanely well written, long and awesome.

Masterpiece that stands The Test of Time
Ragnar Tørnquists masterpiece of an adventure game is storytelling at its best, with a pleasant yet steadily progressing pace. The story follows April Ryan, a struggling art student who lives in Newport - an authoritarian city in Stark where the cops clamp down hard on any loitering. During her summer days she's whisked away to the magical world of Arcadia and soon learns that there are parallel worlds out there that rely on a balance - and that balance is in danger. This leads to an epic journey through Worlds and Time in true adventure fashion with fantastic settings, well-written story and characters and wonderous backdrops. To me, the game's ideal to play in Summer, because that's when I first played it and the game's setting also takes place during Summer. Beware though: The GoG version does not have the original Norwegian voices, so you need to copy those over yourself from your own physical copy. Additionally, do yourself a favour and install the HD mod (https://tljhd.github.io/) for vastly improved visuals. Here's a playthrough with the HD mod and original Norwegian voices installed, for those wanting to see the difference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6bZr1VHdMo

Great game, GOG doesn't deliver.
Fantastic game that doesn't work. You have to use SCUMMVM to get it to work, at least on win11. Bad job, GOG.

Hidden Gem
Ask most people what they think of this game and you will get an uncomprehending look as they ask you what you are talking about. Their loss!!! If you are a classic adventure fan then this is MUST have for your collection.
