Engaging Exploration: Discover a lush jungle planet with damp caves, venture into the unknown and explore a bygone society.
Corruption & Regrowth: Eradicate the gunk, restore nature, and transform the world around you. Employ the revived plant life to delve deeper into this strange and wondrous ecosystem.
Intimate Narrative: The narrative is intrinsically linked with the exploration, where our two main characters keep in tight radio contact throughout the game. Fiona Nova lends her voice in a stellar performance as main character Rani.

The world looks great, the tools provided are nice to use. You can tell the artists and tech teams were into this project. There's a lot of love and detail, especially in the ship interior.
Sadly the same can't be said of the voice actors and the writers. It jumps between trite whedonisms to long stretches of infodump monologuing with zero emotion. Not to mention the two characters sound so much alike that no one I've asked during my streaming could tell Becky and Remi's voices apart without the subtitles on.
There's also little progression to keep things interesting. The upgrades don't really transform the gameplay in the way that Journey To The Savage Planet pulled off, which is a shame.
After playing this game on steam I sent an email to the developers asking them if they would be willing to put this game on GOG and... They listened! Oh my god, thank you so much!!! Yes the game is short and I wish it had much more content. I would gladly pay for more DLC for this game. I personally loved every minute of it! Am I giving the game a higher score because of my love for the developers since they decided to put the game here? Definitely Yes! Should you still get it and play it? Absolutely! It's a hidden gem in my book!
All aspects of the game are painless and satisfying. You'll be exploring simple but pretty levels with non-frustrating 3D platforming. The story is a fairly typical alien planet adventure, with plucky characters and ancient mysteries. Your main activity will be cleaning up gunk and collecting resources. There are also straightforward environmental puzzles, and even some combat, though it's a trivial and unnecessary addition to the game.
The gunk cleaning is super satisfying. The animation is smooth and visceral, and the burst of color you get when you fully clean an area feels like your parents telling you they are proud of you.
I wasn't wowed. I definitely wasn't challenged. But I enjoyed The Gunk a lot.
Fun gmaeplay, two main charachters exptremely annoying and whiny. Othe charachters are fine, the background world is fine. The story is intereating but weak and lame. Mostly smooth gmaeplay.
