Actually good story and fun to play atleast once.
First person mode seemed way too jancky to play the game like that.
enjoyable experience. even for me who cant handle scary games and this wasn't scary or riddled with horrible jump scares.
A sequel that does depart a lot from the original games design, but I would say it is for the better, the amount of content on offer for this game on Akuma is around 20-25 hours if you wanna get all the good gear. Combat has been streamlined for the better, and a lot of the weapons are very well made. First person mode makes the second time going through this game a very enjoyable time.
I heard fantastic things about The Evil Within 2 and yeah, it has some really good elements.
Gameplay is classic stealth, decent gunplay and survival-crafting-limited resources. For some reasons, Tango Gameworks decided tries with more open world kind of locations. It's lame. It's doesn't look good, it doesn't feel right, especially at the beggining when your hero is extremely slow and fragile. The game is also buggy as hell, nothing really big, but it immediately kills any suspens.
First half has some moments of great horror (thanks to monsters design) but it's sluggish. Second mostly abandon sandbox stuff, focus on solid linear survival horror experience, driven by emotional story. Yeah, background with stupid Matrix premise and bad organisation is cliche as hell, but family moments between Sebastian and his daughter/wife are mostly handled really well. You want to see succeed this characters till the end.
The Evil Within 2 has many flaws but I can recommend it. If you looking for okay survival horror game, play it.
