The Evil Within 2 gives you more options to play your way in a much bigger survival-horror playground than the original. Although a disjointed plot and weak protagonist make it slow to get started, being pursued through an intriguingly bizarre world by plentiful and disturbing monsters kept my palms sweaty and my heart in my throat thanks to a strict adherence to the most important survival horror rule: you should always be on the back foot.

Fantastic game
Although the story stops surprising unlike in the first game. I think this entry has a superior gameplay and the free roaming less linear approach gave it a far more enjoyable replayability. I really enjoyed this game and I already finished it a few times.

Great for what it is
It's a great game for what it is. Way more RE4 than it's predecessor, but not bad for it. Just... a little bit dissonant. Went from legit horror to action-with-gruesome-imagery, more or less. Still worth a buy.
