Shinji Mikami has yet to make a poor game, and The Evil Within does not blemish his record. But neither does the game enchant and disrupt in the way that Vanquish and the others managed. This is Mikami revisiting his past glories and, as such, it's both a delight and a disappointment.

The Evil Within marks Shinji Mikami's triumphant return to horror, cementing his status as a mastermind of the genre. Smartly aiming for psychological horror over cheap jump scares, it gets under the skin and effects the psyche. Unfortunately, it falls into the modern trappings of boasting too much firepower at the cost of stealth and intelligence.

It´s a good game but a bad port
It´s a good game but a bad port, if u want to play it on a modern sistem u have to select windowed mode on properities in Windows, if u didn´t the game starts with a black screen and don´t work.

It probably was a great game but...
The climate and story are great. I'm sure that it's a great game, but the port to PC is just annoying. Steering is not converted well, sometimes you just cannot exit the viewing mode when examining windows. Generally speaking, it was most probably a great game on console, but the PC port is done poorly and the game is annoying which doesn't give jus the joy of playing and immersiveness.

Awesome game! Hard though
Awesome story! If you're the type of person who get's scared from games, you're in for a hoot. I, a masochist, can only play games on the hardest possible difficulty. I play about an hour or two a day, Alt+F4 when I die for the 5th time on the same place and come back the next day
