The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition

This game is worth a playthrough, and I've already cleared it so many times since its release, and even with the added content, I don't feel up to unlocking all the achievements again. I have already done it twice on two separate Steam accounts. Always had to use mods on the older versions of Skyrim to play on the PC I had just so it would run on the potato piece of crap PC I had, and I still bought it again on GOG, but I have overplayed the crap out of this game. Anyway, I usually start off doing Brotherhood stuff, Daedric stuff, and Thieves Guild just to get the achievements out of the way and then play my normal, but I just hate the fact that I can't play through again when it helped vent my frustrations if I felt the urge to just wonder about the lands and kill wicked enemies that don't know how to shut up until you silence them yourself...Hunting and killing dragons was the main highlight that kept me coming back. Worth the purchase.

I bought Skyrim pretty close to its first release date (and then again for Special Edition, and then again Anniversary Edition), and I'm still not tired of it. The diverse and rich mods available have constantly breathed new life into this game, with different updates to graphics as well as new quest lines, objects, dialogue, characters, etc, all as lore-friendly as you wish, or not. It's great to see a DRM-free version.

I bought Skyrim LE and its DLC a while back for 40$ (physical disk too). I got SE for free in 2016. In 2022, I happily buy this game again (for less than I did back then). This game gave me so much, I don't mind giving back. At all. This game means something to me. It's hard to explain. Emotions aside. The GOG version will be a gift from whatever higher entities you believe in (me? Todd Howard). No DRM is always welcomed, but the fact that GOG allows you to ACTUALLY prevent update and to easily roll back if your ever need to is what makes this version so great. This version will probably be the most modder friendly version in not too long. If you want to have the anniversary bonus, buy the pack on GOG. You will not be able to buy it the stuff ingame through the Bethesda Mod Manager (however, if you are on PC, you probably don't care as much about that). I just think it's great. Todd did it again, he made us buy Skyrim again. The mad lad.

Anniversary Edition efficiently manages to unbalance a -maybe not perfect- well built game, filling it with childish, badly designed content. What little good might have been among all those "creations" is lost between whimsical cartoon fantasy and little kids' superpowered delusions. Dragon-killing crossbows and overpowered homes freely available at Level one without the need to develop a character and work for them; unbalanced and poorly planned quests, are just a tiny fraction of what makes this expansion unplayable and unbearable, and let's not talk about the fact that, once purchased, by the love of Talos you CANNOT, BY ANY MEANS, get rid of it.

I'm currently playing other single players and own the game on Steam like 3 times, so I don't really need it. That being said, the fact that a DRM Free version has been released is something that should be rewarded, so I'll buy it as soon as I can. As always, in this industry you vote with your wallet, and both GOG and Bethesda are doing a really good thing here.
