The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Basically the BEST version of Skyrim. - DRM-free - all the DLCs and community contents included - it supports Switchable GPUs like Nvidia Optimus. Something the day1 release of Skyrim did not support. So if you have a laptop or a low power gaming PC with switchable GPUs or an APU, this version here runs with it. (tested on a Asus ROG GR6 with Intel HD 5500 and Nvidia GTX960M) However the Special Edition also installs ALL the language packs at once. No way to chose during install. So if you do not need the other ones, delete them manually after the game was installed. Not only will the game run perfectly fine, you also save a ton of Storage space. However keep in mind that not all mods will work, unless they are deliberately made for the Special Edition or are at least made compatible.

I'm glad we can now finaly buy Skyrim on GOG. BUT unfortunately the GOG version of the game (at the moment 09.10.2022) doesn't come with the Cretion Kit. Which is a essential Tool for those who create all the content that makes this game still somewhat relevant. This means that you still need a Steam version to make or modify mods.

Had been on Skyrim LE (32bit) for a long time (No Steam Patch). Tried Skryim SE on Steam but the constant breaking of SKSE with various minor updates caused all sorts of issues. This version from GOG is top notch and DRM-free. The visuals are great in even the vanilla but add a good selection of mods and this game looks like it has been made in 2025. Sooooo immersive and fun to explore and play out stories. There is just something about Skyrim that draws me in to play more and more. There are some special things with modding tools that are still problematic with this version but there are methods and most mods are already ready for install. If you want great performance and very good stability without the need for automated updating breaking things.....this version is awesome.

No drm, no ingame creation club menu, no log in, everything is included in the offline installer (the anniversary dlc that include a lot of mods from the creation club is a simple installer, really good way to avoid stupid drm and extra download). I think the only mod that you should add is: SSE Display Tweaks only if you got a display that goes over 60 Hz. Skyrim is capped to 60fps without that mod. SSE Display Tweaks was updated to support Skyrim gog a few days after release, both SKSE and Address library for SKSE were updated for the gog Skyrim before release so the support for mods (while right now is not 100%) it's really good too. You don't even need galaxy for any of the feature of the game. Best release on gog, just get it, it's worth the price.

I can't believe I'm going to buy this @!#$ again... But having Skyrim DRM free with hassle-free rollback features is well worth it. If you've been on the fence about this game for the past decade, this is the best place to buy it and easily worth it, especially if you Mod :)
