Getting a little tired of this

I feel like if they are charging basically full price for an update, then they can eat some butt. Unless they are adding a literal entire games worth of content thats equal to the amount that Skyrim itself added in its original form, then they can charge that much. If they are simply just adding a ton of mods that other people made and compiling them into one update and then charging you full price, they are basically having you pay them to do what you could do for free. I know some of the mods need updates and don't have them outside of this DLC, but honestly, they shouldn't be charging you even close to full price. Maybe 20 bucks max. I'm tired of gaming companies just selling the same old thing over and over and charging full price for it, we should just stop buying the shit from them and they'll be forced to come out with something new... that is unless you are all fine with just buying the same thing over and over again. Games do this because people still pay them money when they release it, so they now know that people will buy the same thing over and over if there is a change in the title, even if the game virtually is the same.

Works with mods as of August 2023

Amazing game. I'm using Vortex to install mods through Nexus Mods. All mods work well as of August 2023, in case anyone is wondering if the GoG version is compatible.

Todd Howard's greed aside, Skyrim rules.

THANK YOU GOG, didn't see it coming but it was an insta-buy from me. Last time I played this, I was running +250 mods to a total of 700hrs on the same save, and this was all on the original version (not Legendary, not SE). Ah, to be able do it all again - to ride a horse through the snow, to shout at everything in my way, to defeat Alduin and hoard all the sweet rolls - now with half the crashes and double the content!

My take on this game and my rant

I've been waiting over 10 years to play this game because of the DRM, so this is absolutely my first time playing this game. My review isn't based on nostalgia or hype. This, my friends, is an honest review. However, the damn game is over 10 years old so if you are reading reviews to help you decide if you should buy this game, you are a moron. YouTube gameplay videos are what should help you decide if this game is for you. Okay, many hours into this game now. The graphics, for such an old game, are not bad at all. The combat is a little clunky, feels more mechanical than smooth. The voiceovers could be better but not bad enough for an eye roll. The movement through this vast world is smooth, there's no lag. The quests, like in Oblivion, are numerous so there's plenty to keep you busy. The main story line/quest will make you want to continue; it's not boring. The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim has me lost in its world. No, this game is not Witcher 3 but, like its predecessor, Oblivion, Skyrim has me excited explore this giant sandbox. If you like fantasy ARPGs, and you have viewed gameplay on YouTube, well then, you know this game is for you. I'm giving this game a 5 star rating because, fuck, it's fun to play! And now my rant...limited on characters, had to erase a bunch. Don't knock a game because of what you hate about GOG or the company who manufactured the game. Rate all games based on gameplay, not your personal grudges. Honestly, GOG is the only legitimate site I know of which provides DRM free games. You fuckers should be grateful this site exists. GOG has allowed me to play games on a modern system which, without their engineering, I wouldn't be able to play. Props to Jim Beam Fire for this alcohol infused review. You got a problem with this review, lol, who cares?
