Absolute Bull Shit

I have no idea as to why this game is held in such high regard, beyond possibly nostalgia. There is mind boggling bad ideas implemented into this game that makes it borderline unplayable in the modern day. The game uses a percentage based system for calculating actions that you can do in the game. This applies to combat as well. Whereas Oblivion and Skyrim have improved on this concept, it is still, even in this system's infancy, bull shit. There are times where I'm swinging my axe, and someone is swinging their's and neither of us are landing a hit, even though both of us are right in front of each other. The range on many attacks are deceptively large, and there are characters just inside the first hour of gameplay that can kill you within seconds. I've tried completing more quests to level up, I've tried going elsewhere to find better loot, but there is no where you can go early game that isn't immensly difficult. I had my game set to normal, and still, I was having to save scum, run away and kill rats just to progress. Don't waste your money or time on this game. It hasn't aged well at all, and frankly, I don't think it even compares to other RPGs of the time. This is a shitty game, with shitty systems and mechanics, and punishes you for trying to play the game outside of the main story.

If you are not nostalgic - beware!

I imagine that everything the "Nostalgic rosy glasses" say about it was true back in the day, but the naked truth of it is that the game is so awkward and deficient in terms of movement (and especially combat which is a huge part of the game) that it becomes almost unplayable. It has not aged well *at all*. Please bear with me and allow me to elaborate a little. Before I stepped one foot into the game I made sure I've modded it with the best mods out there. I spent close to 30 hours researching the mods, making sure I did not install any mods that might be in conflict with one another... Long story short, I made the game look nice(er) and work better, and my actual install of Morrowind today is ... 12 GIGABYTE. TWELVE GIGABYTE... and the game still FAILS... because it is heavily reliant on COMBAT which is hopelessly broken and deficient (in spite of the Accurate Attack mod which is supposed to make every attack hit as long as you are in range). Bottom line is that if you create a custom character (who is not a mage shooting fireballs or some such), you have no chance of survival. Ok, you could tough it out and suffer through *countless* deaths (caused by idiotic combat mechanics and class imbalance) for the first 20-30 hours of game-play before you get a glimpse of a fighting chance at survival and questionable RPG fun ... or you could save many hours of your life (and a few coins) BY SKIPPING THIS hopelessly outdated game.

Arguably the worst Elder Scrolls game

Even Arena and Skyrim are better than this PoS. This game isnt good today and never was any good to begin with. This is the game that marked the decline in the TES series. RIP. Screw the fanboys.

Masterpiece? More like an alphaversion.

I found a dagger, yay! Now if the developers just would have added the option that would give the player the chance to actually hit the enemy, that would be SO great. I got mutilated by a jumpy worm-thing while I wasn't able to hit it ONCE. Screw every D20 system, this is just utter garbage. Couldn't say this is a game. It's more like a worthless, numb and unspectacular simulator of people walking like if they had been impaled once. From what year is this game, late 80s? It's also more like the alpha version of a alpha version of a beta title. Horrible. Plain. Horrible.
