The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition

As I remember the game, it was great! Awesome world, weird creatures, difficult dungeons. But, I played it in russian as it was on my fathers computer. So this review is more about the GOG download more than the game itself. As the title says: No russian, No purchase.

Ffs, in comaparison to steam release, gog lack cloud saves - thanks to it, I just lost save with my 70 hrs redgard, I f***ing hate your retarded versions gog.

Hear from starting town NPC that "something needs to be done about those bandits in [insert generic fantasy name]" (hint hint) Go there Get spotted by bandit "Fight" bandit by spamming left mouse button, either mostly missing or doing pitiful damage Kill bandit after about 100 clicks (even Diablo is better in this regard) Find prisoners Release prisoners (they just stand there) Get spotted by another bandit, lead him to prisoners in the hopes that they assist me They ignore him Fight bandit on my own (click click click), run out of HP Run outside cave to rest Return, bandit is dutifully waiting for me After many clicks kill bandit Go outside to rest Get woken up by a ninja assassin and a worm thing Out of HP so run to town to get help from guards Guards kill worm thing and ignore assassin (he's a ninja after all) Assassin kills me Uninstall game

I owned this game in BOTH PC and Console, but unless YOU are NEW to gaming (in BOTH PC and Console formats), and have NEVER played the series.....THEN DO NOT BUY. The play is old and the graphics uninspiring....this is a game that is meant for the people who played it BACK WHEN....had a MOMENT in their lives for DISCOVERY....and can't let go. KINDA like me with the Descent, Freespace, Wing Commander and Independence War space SI-Fi series. I now own and play the "Elder Scrolls" series on XBOX One X 4K versions (SOON on the VR version for Oculus Rift "touch" system), and it's just me now who likes playing on a controler rather than a keyboard. Saves my hands from arthritis and other tendon problems as it were for the time being. I've been a gamer since the MID 70's (YES...that's right...a LIFER) UNFORTUNATELY.....progress means just that....things get outdated....except to the NEWBIES!

OK OK, maybe that seems harsh but this game feels like it was released too early(unfinished)i mean just watch the guard animations loop(sloppy),the whole ROLL-OF-THE-DICE combat system just plain SUCKS, and the map is about as helpful as no map at all, now pretty much almost all of the flaws can be remedied with mods to make the game somewhat playable and given how broken the magic system is this game can benefit big time from whatever mods can improve it. i simply CAN NOT get into this game in vanilla playthrough, i get into a fight with a worm and who do you think wins? that's right, the frigging worm wins thanks to the broken combat system. i am amazed at how many people love this crap game, if you get it ONLY get it when it's on sale and then start searching the nexus mod site for good mods, thank goodness for MODS, the only thing that can save this broken application, but hey....at least it starts up and runs, i have had older gog games that won't even start!
