Description
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition includes Morrowind plus all of the content from the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions.

An epic, open-ended single-player RPG, Morrowind allows you to create and play any kind of character imaginable. You can choose to follow the main storyline and find the source of the evil blight that plagues the land, or set off on your own to explore strange locations and develop your character based on their actions throughout the game. Featuring stunning 3D graphics, open-ended gameplay, and an incredible level of detail and interactivity, Morrowind offers a gameplay experience like no other.

In Tribunal, you journey to the capital city of Morrowind, called Mournhold, to meet the other two god-kings of Morrowind, Almalexia and Sotha Sil. Your journey will lead you to the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil and massive, epic-sized dungeons, where strange and deadly creatures await you, including goblins, lich lords, and the mysterious Fabricants.

Bloodmoon takes you to the frozen Island of Solstheim where you'll experience snow, blizzards, and new creatures, including frost trolls, ice minions, and wolves... just to name a few. You'll have a choice of stories to follow and have the opportunity to defend the colony, take control over how the colony is built up, and eliminate the werewolves. Or, you can decide to join the werewolves and become one of them, opening up a whole new style of gameplay.

Outstanding Game

This is a phenomenal game. Keeping things short, it has: 1. A vast, open, and interesting world. 2. Good graphics (for it's era), that still look decent today. 3. Solid (albeit dated) gameplay mechanics that are still fun and interesting. 4. An extensive modding community to improve the above and add tons of additional content of every conceivable variety. My only hitch with GOGs version of Morrowind is that it doesn't come packaged with the video files that the original installer ran from the CD. I keep getting a brief (not gamebreaking) error message every time I start, but all else runs as smooth as can be.

5 stars for game play not performance

This is one of if not the best most open ended rpgs ever. Do not compare to later elds they are little more than action games with level up that give you perks no real development. I will not buy from here as I already have an old copy goty and it runs bad on modern pcs. I did play this back in the 32bit days and it ran so smooth never looked great but was good enough. The immersion and ability to actually do nearly anything you want makes its story line top notch. This is one of the first games I cut my teeth making mods you could do so much more. The biggest problem was always stability even running vanilla you had to save often. The difficulty level was pretty high many veteran rpgers had hours of trouble and learning.

More RPG Customization than TES4 n 5.

Morrowind is the BEST Elder Scrolls game to date. Everything you do has a skill progress bar - including walking, how likely you hit an opponent with a sword (like a dice roll in RPGs), and how likely your spells work. Thus said, Morrowind is grindier than Skyrim and Oblivion. This is why Morrowind is better! It Oblivion and Skyrim, combat got realistic. You had to simply aim your fireballs, and watch how big of a spell you used or else youll run out of magicka to use and wait for it to recharge. In Oblivion, that's the same. In MORROWIND... it DOESNT recharge. You had to think like a mage and find the recipe or a place to buy restore magicka potions to keep you safe! I can go more into it - but simply Morrowind is better. Once you select the right skills for your intended class and find the right faction to associate with and place you want to live for a while... you'll know what I mean. Morrowind doesn't get stale cause of how mod friendly it is and how much bigger and more complicated it is to the other games. But who am I kidding? They're all basically worth playing (idk about Redguard or TES1. Theyre so old. Dos and early PC games.) Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim > Daggerfall Unity (Play all of these.) Then: Fallout New Vegas > Fallout 3 You will be free to be whatever role you observe in each of these. These are CRPGs at their absolute Best. Forever Memorable.

Not only nostalgia

I don't want to repeat the praise that is written here already, but I often read that this oldie is not so enjoyable nowadays. I don't agree. Morrowind was not my first Elder Scrolls game, but nevertheless it is my favorite. Nearly everything that some describe as a downside (dice roll, no magicka regen, no voice acting, no quest markers ...) is an upsite for me. Even grafic overhauls are not necessary IMO. But if you want a grafic overhaul or magicka regen you can get it. There is a huge number of mods and the Morrowind modding scene is still alive.
