In Andergast, whose inhabitants are considered to be notoriously superstitious, King Efferdan awaits a state visit from high-ranking dignitaries. For centuries the kingdom has been at odds with neighboring Nostria, but now first steps are being undertaken toward a lasting peace. But a plague of crows troubles the king, for the birds are acting with unusual aggressiveness, even attacking humans. Moreover, there are those among the citizens of Andergast who swear that the crows are bringing them dark nightmares. As the belligerent creatures infiltrate even the castle itself, the king seeks a skilled bird catcher - an opportunity for young Geron to prove that the reputation for ill luck that has followed him since childhood is undeserved. Following an audience with the king, the prestigious task is assigned to him. However, not only does his task prove unexpectedly difficult, but it also turns out to be the first step of the greatest adventure of his life, which will lead him to the borders of the charted lands of Aventuria and beyond.

... but why is there no German version in the GOG store ?
Everywhere else is the game available cross-platform and multilingual but not here on my most loved game store. Why ? ...
I just bought the game last week, and played it until the end, without help or walkthrough!
Great game!
Now for two days you can get it for free (Christmas Gift from GOG)
What a game!
German vocal files you can get somewhere on the internet!
The game has great art style (although animations are a bit lacking) and music very suitable to the overall game feeling. You play as Geron, young man said to be "bad luck" and doombringer, who becomes a reluctant hero after he's met some reclusive fairy and got involved in broader plot with crow plague, fairy magic and an evil Seer who supposedly died more than decade ago. The story is fun if simple and rather dark.
Puzzles are mostly fine, except sometimes you need to go back to previously visited locations for some items even if nothing indicates that something new could appear there. There are mainly object puzzles in the game with some simple logical puzzles. The object ones are diversified however by breaking and fixing spells, so you'll need to think not only which item use on what but also if some objects could be destroyed or fixed to give you things you need.
I want to start by saying; I don't leave reviews! Quite frankly I think they are horse hockies! What "rating" we give a game is totally dependant on our outlook on things. That being said.......
What a wonderful game this was! It starts out innocent then works it's way to dark. The characters taken the way the developers protrayed them are endearing. I have read reviews of games where personal interpretation of characters have swayed the writer. In this game you will need to let the story carry you. I enjoyed Geron's trek! I loved Nuri's innocents! It was a wonderfully put together duo!
As for "Game Play". It is so nice to have a "Point and Click" game that you don't have to cheat to get through. The puzzles can be challenging, but I never had to search the internet to get an answer to something. This is one of those games you play when you just want to relax and enjoy the game. I wasn't disappointed with the time I invested in this. The graphics are beautiful.
I guess the best way to sum up this game is:
You ever read a really good book and can't wait to see how it ends, but once you've finished you regret that it's over. This game did it for me. There is more I could say but they would only be spoilers and I don't want to ruin someone's experience. Throw rocks at me if you want. I loved this game!
