The Cat Lady

I like the art style and atmosphere, but everything takes about 10 times as long as it should. Every single scene and dialog choice is unskippable. God forbid you accidentally click on a conversation option you already listened to. I seriously hate the "can't tell what's real" storytelling trope. I gave this game several hours, but I am way too bored and not invested in the main character to continue.

I'm not sure if this game is meant to feel campy, but it's definitely the vibe I get from playing. The Cat Lady has the potential to be a truly gruesome, horrific game; however, I think it misses the mark due to technical flaws. The part that bothered me the most was the voice acting and the audio quality. The different accents and the changing volume/white noise during dialogue were especially distracting. On the plus side, navigating the game was easy and I never felt frustrated with the controls. Also, the story was interesting enough to complete the game. If you're looking for an easy campy horror game, then you may like this.

I have not yet finished the game, only the first two chapters. But from this experience I have to say the game is very well written, making the player wonder what is real and what is just imagination. The events and graphics in the game is very dark and gory. Yet it is not also very poetic by the way of dialogs and let you explore various aspects of human mind. The controls are keyboard only yet very well designed and easy to work with.

This game is another something you don't want to miss. I can't even believe that this is created by indie developers. Trust me. Once you started this game, you can't stop playing no matter how scary you feel. My favorite one is the woman with the mirror (you know what I mean if you beat this game). Puzzles are not so difficult I think. It might look difficult at first, but scenery is pretty solid and you won't miss anything important so it won't cause many problems. Characters are wonderful. There is NO mob characters. Each of them carve memories of themselves to your brain. It is dark, scary,bloody, and definitely unique. What are you waiting for? BUY IT!

This game kind of made me uncomfortable. It definitely has it's own style. Can be pretty creepy. I felt fairly attached to the characters by the end and it had a good ending. But this game is certainly not for everyone. 3 stars for it being good (not amazing), but weird'd me out.
