Good game, saves would have made great
This game has soul and style and was memorable, but I see a lot of reviews saying it's perfection, and that's going too far. Yes it allows for lots of player choice and yes the puzzles are quite fun and well thought out, but the combination of a non-linear point and click game style with a lack of quicksaves and an uncontrollable autosave is just unforgivable in this day and age. There's times when you might click something out of curiosity leading to a horrific outcome you didn't at all intend...and then BAM an autosave and it's seared into stone for the rest of your playthrough. Better hope you were using the userdata folder on your computer to manually fake save slots. The quick ending feature is nice, but doesn't save remotely enough time to make up for the lack of save slots. The end result if you're like me is you then end up using a walkthrough out of fear for the rest of the game, not because the puzzles are too difficult but because you are terrified to lock in an outcome you didn't intend. Which is a shame because discovering some of these fascinating outcomes spontaneously is half of the fun of the game.
