A good adventure
This in not a masterpiece. But it is a good game which is worth playing. You're Samuel Gordon, a young fella who returns to his family's manor after his grandfather apparently commits suicide by jumping out the window. What you slowly uncover is that there are some dark secrets in the middle. The atmosphere is dark, brooding, with a sense of dread and hopelessness imprinted deep within everything around. It's great! Of the three games in the series, this is the darkest one. The puzzles are both world and inventory-based, their difficulty is balanced and they make sense - which is quite important :) Can't remember too much pixel-hunting, if any, so it's all good. The sound is decent for an adventure game, though I can't remember much in terms of music. However, the (English) voice acting is absolutely horrible, it's so bad it's funny at times. Especially the main character. This is a pity, since there's quite a lot of dialogue in the game. The graphics are good for the most part, the backgrounds being beautifully detailed. The 3D characters are not so well done though, suffering from an overall stiffness. If you're an adventure fan, this is a must-play! Not only it's an interesting game in itself, but it's also part of a good trilogy. For people who don't necessarily fancy classic point-n-clicks it's still worth playing, especially if you like H.P. Lovecraft.
