Funny, but ehhh!
It is a funny game, but I didn't get hooked much by it. Guess I'm not a fan of adventure games.

One Of the First and Best!
Before this, it was window-to-window dungeon opening, like most of you can't imagine. All text but a quarter of the screen was a changing window so far ahead as you moved. This game was on of the first I played that was both, and the bard is a great character now because of all this. Highly recommended for history buffs and old-time fun-ers!!

fun over 9000
there are no words to make this game justice, I have never met such an incredible playable character like this bard, he literally thinks and says everything that is going thorough my head when I play RPG games that try so hard to impress the, only to fall flat on their intent and deliver a generic adventure game with nothing special. The bards tale is different, this bard character grows on you and you will end up loving him. neither the game nor the bard take the story or the game seriously but instead ridicule and make jokes about the overused elements that make up %99 of today's adventure games and that is what makes this game so good and so different. would love to have more games like this.

Fantastic Idea
I love that the original Trio of games are included. I have yet to pick this gem up nut I have the Play-station edition of the new Bard's tales and the old abandonware editions of the Trilogy. I love them all. I would pick this up because the dos version very hard to set up yourself and it either gets very fast or very slow. I hope the EMU is done well for this but why shouldn't it every other game I have tried is. The old Trilogy took up way too much time for me in the late 80s start 90s on the commodore 64 and I remember all the songs vividly. Can't wait to play them again in the proper setting.

Pretty good.
Overall, this game is a lot of fun. The gameplay is definitely linear and somewhat un-original. However, the comedic elements make it worth playing.
