Excellent sequel
The 11th Hour serves another set of great, although sometimes freakishly hard puzzles. This time there is also Stauf's demented riddles, that are quite often almost impossible to figure out on your own. Luckily there's the "GameBook", that gives you hints if/when you need them. After almost 20 years, The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour are both very original games, if you ask me. Definitely not for everyone, but I enjoy playing these brain teasers again and again :)

Loved it!
Great game! I remember playing it when I was a kid - scared the life out of me. One of my favorite things about this game is the connectivity to the 7th Guest - its a nice surprise for those who have played the prequel. Seeing the once beautiful spider stained glass now shattered and the huge staircase falling to disarray was very cool, creating a symmetry that added to the intense nature of the game. My only wish is that it is offered for Mac OS, like the 7th Guest was. =/

3 1/2 stars for a mixed up sequel
Note this "review" is from what I remember playing T11H when it first came out. My overall opinion may change when get to play it again from GOG. While technically superior in almost every way to The 7th Guest, The 11th Hour fell short of T7G story wise. More video sequences, more in depth characters but unfortunately the characters weren't really ones anyone could care about. The music in the game was also a let down for me compared to the original coming off more as an experiment for Team Fat than producing something that it the overall theme of the game. However the gameplay itself was great, a bit more diverse than T7G to add some new elements. The story is passable if not memorable. It was a technical treat visually for it's time. A solid offering for it's time and worth a play or two but it won't leave you with the same sense of awe that T7G.
