Description
A sci-fi puzzle-platformer of cataclysmic proportions. You’re a hungry, disgruntled Blob of alien origin with mutant powers and an insatiable appetite. To the great horror of your former captors (and all of humanity), you have escaped into the world. While growing in size and scope, you'll gain new abilities that take platforming to new heights. At first you're rolling around jumping and eating. Suddenly you're using magnetic powers to push and pull yourself in midair, hovering between instant death. Finally you're rocketing around levels, free to explore impossible to reach areas. 24 expansive levels, PLUS top-down bonus stages. Consume Everything!!! Regret Nothing!!!!
  • Insane Growth: Start the size of a tennis ball. Grow to massive proportions.
  • Mutant Powers: Fly like a bottle rocket, stick to things like a fridge magnet, or use the powers of telekinesis to move platforms.
  • Retro Style: 50's-inspired art & music paired with B-movie-inspired humor.

A Fresh and Funny Puzzle Platformer

Everything has been said about Mutant Blobs Attack in the other GOG reviews, so I am just going to reiterate what other people said. :) I got this game free with Guacamelee, and I didn't think I would enjoy it this much. The setting is unique, and I had a blast playing through this homage to classic 50s-60s horror films. It is one of those games that I might come back to, partially because of its length, but most because how much fun I had during this time. People should not be scared about "yet another puzzle platformer" as the game's protagonist just slowly, gradually eats up everything, so it adds a nice new element (although similar to Katamari Damacy) to the whole puzzle platformer genre. Overall, do give this game a try if you are looking for a fun, very enjoyable and memorable experience. It was high time for a title like this when "muddy graphics manshooter" season is coming up, right? :)

Needs a controller

Fun game, but the keyboard controls are nightmarishly awkward and there's no way to re-set them.

Horrible controls

It could have easily been so much better. I can't enjoy this game if it punishes me for playing.

Not so ambitious...

Well... This game is disappointing. Definitely not worth full price. Story is weak, poor graphic, clumsy control. It's ok-ish with significant discount, but not worth full price. It's more like old fashioned Flash game with a little bit better graphics. It is fun especially if you don't have time for bigger games, but it gets boring exponentially fast. Random difficulty spikes, are also annoying, especially "death beams" following You quicker than You are moving - so one mistake, and You can't outrun death.

Controls are too sloppy.

Bad sense of momentum and inertia make for a frustrating experience.
