I'm interested...
For reference, I have only played System Shock 2 but decided to put it aside to play the first one. I couldn't really get into the gameplay so I never got around to playing it seriously. That's when I saw that they were remaking the first one and now that I have played the demo (on Steam though) for at least 3 hours, I have some good and bad points. - Tight gunplay is pretty comfortable but overall gameplay needs a lot of improvement. Hitting the enemies feel stiff and somewhat clunky. - Graphics range from decent to bad but that's understandable since it is obviously a pre-alpha demo. - You can't load or save but at least you can respawn if you die (after you find the station) - Soundtrack is good - Game crashed twice (on Steam) - Frame rate dipped quite a lot on the final areas (maybe the bodies piling up?) To be honest, for being a demo, it was filled with quite a lot of content. The map was huge and had a lot of rooms to explore and items to pick up. It had simple puzzles and you could find logs like in Bioshock. I honestly died quite a lot of times since enemies would respawn in groups when you made significant progress but they can be ignored. Two things I didn't understood were the grenades hitbox and the alarm system. Whenever I threw a frag grenade at the enemy, I would run the opposite side to avoid being hit by the explosion but I still would get blasted. Second, I literally destroyed almost every camera and servers and lowered the security to below 5% and still enemies would respawn in groups so I didn't understood the point of that. Lastly, you can't change the game settings visually or put in subtitles for some strange reason. You also had to press Esc every time you respawned because the game would sort of freeze. I understand the game needs a lot of improvement because the demo is pre-alpha but I am really interested in the game nonetheless. My wish is that it is well optimized in the end.
