You can get the same game (but better), with the same graphics and character model upgrades just by installing the SS2 Mod that's been around for yrs.
This remaster makes ZERO sense. I appreciate NightDive, but this is a cash-grab. The character models actually look WORSE in this than in the mod. There is virtually NOTHING of benefit that has been added.
It's like they just stole the mods, made some bad tweaks, and then packaged it as a remaster.
Saving and loading is inconsistently working. I have to start a new game and make a save just to load a previous save. When attempting to load a save without doing so it says I dont have the mods the remaster comes with installed despite them being automatically installed. Love ya nightdive but this is not a great bug to have off rip.
This was my first time playing System Shock 2 and it was amazing. It's insane how well its core mechanics have held up 25 years later. I love these older games that were made for keyboard and mouse first, it makes the exoerience really unique from anything that comes out now. I feel like I have so much control over my character and the world itself.
My only complaint with this port is that there are no HUD scaling options, and in a game where you are constantly interacting with the HUD it can definitely become an issue. However, Nightdive has stated that they are already planning to fix that in a future patch, and I have no reason not to believe them given their great track record. Highly recommend.

I'm going to make my final review once I have completed this version of the game.
Pretty decent so far. I want to give this game 5 stars.
Problem:
No quick save nor are there many auto saves. Maybe the Devs thought this as a problem in CO-OP mode, however, it should definately be included in the Single Player mode. Too many deaths and repeated steps over and over again because I forgot to save my game. Albeit, I'm on Impossible Mode.
I'll update this review as soon as I've finished the game properly. I might have some additional issues to report to the Developers.
When that all is said SS2EE is a proper GOG, no doubt about it.
