System Shock® 2 (1999)

Sadly created in the days before dynamic lighting engines and the like so these days the atmosphere could be better, it's still one of the most amazing games made by humanity. There are mods to improve the visuals and allow for higher resolutions so it's not such an eyesore but a few hours in and you'll forget the graphics and just be carried along by the horror and genius of it. Bioshock wanted to be the remake of this but wasn't quite as good. This is a piece of high grade gaming history

I NEVER, in a million years thought GOG would get it done. Fancy insurance/lawyer talk keeps people away from releases like this being possible....BUT now here we are valentines day 2013. I am speaking to you on my easy chair. For years, I thought to myself, wouldn't it to nice if there was one package that offered ss2 with all its goodies. here we are GOG, you have a new fan boy.

I am SO HAPPY! (I am also gonna point people at dubya dubya dubya dot shtupmod dot net for the community-driven graphics overhaul project. Because revolutionary it was, but gorgeous it had yet to be...)

Ok grafics are antiquated except you install this great mod , but it is one of a few games i played with fun till the end . Starting is may a little bit confusing but after be familiar with all options it will be the greatest game ever together with Stalker .

This game was one of the first to legitimately creep me out while playing, it had great atmosphere with a rich and deep storyline that kept me hooked all the way through, all-the-while looking over my shoulder constantly in case another enemy came looking to bash my face in from the darkness. It kept its hooks in me from hiding from the first pipe hybrid all the way until the final confrontation, never once losing focus or momentum, one of the best games I've ever played.
