Synthwave Burnout is an arcade journey designed to give you an enjoyable visual and sound experience. The aesthetics of good old fiction, pleasant, uncomplicated supercar control gameplay - all this is created for you. Feel like you're inside your favorite 80s sci-fi movie!

GAMEPLAY FEATURES

Movement is life. In our case, the correct control of the supercar allows its unique generator to extract energy from the surrounding world.

CAPTURE A SOUND WAVE

When your supercar picks up the right speed and the wind blows in your face, you won't want to stop. It will be akin to anticipating the future - the sensations that cult films and music of the 80s evoke. You will soon realize that the soundtrack and the movement on the neon-flooded highway make up a single whole.

THREE THINGS YOU CAN LOOK AT ENDLESSLY:

How the fire burns, how the water flows and how you tame the futuristic road in your elite sports car - out of time and fuss, among the neon glare and synthwave sounds.

LIST OF GAME ELEMENTS:

  • 5 playable locations with varied gameplay
  • 80s neon atmosphere
  • Various racing tracks
  • Stunning retrowave / synthwave soundtrack

I agree with other negative reviews

It's pretty much a mess. 1) In-game dev says it's out of EA so nothing will be fixed. 2) When you start the game, the character is outside the car and will sit on the back seat if you press E closer to it than to the front seat. and it won't move front from there - kinda what's the point in having character being able to seat there? 3) Someone mentioned that it is like a NES arcade racer - I think it's even worse. You have only one life and if you just touch the sidewalk - it's gameover, start from the beggining. 4) idea is fun, but after playing other game by that dev - the visual and music is no longer novel. 5) the menu is mostly broken - feels like some kinda student project. I guess that EA was for bug fixes since the game itself reminds me of what we were doing on CompSci's gamedev courses within a week (it was worth only 2 credits) - in other words I can't see what dev could've spent years on. Maybe more art and music? But the core gameplay is still in it's broken, infant state, Overall I can see the apeal. but I regret buying it my scores: 1/5 - this "game" shouldn't exist 2/5 - I guess someone might like it, but I regret buying it. 3/5 - I had some fun with it and do not regret buying it. 4/5 - I had completed this game and had overall good time with it. 5/5 - It's a great game, one of the bestest of all time!

its an asset flip xD

an asset flip. you hit a curb and its insta death. driving model is s#it. you can literally enter cat and sit on a passenger seat and OBVIOUSLY nothing happens. lol. ITS AN ASSET FLIP. xD in store there should be separated cathegory of games such as this one called "asset flips" to avoid confusion, literally. writing review of it is a waste of my time and electricity.

Atrocious

I hate being negative about anything, but this is one of the worst things I've ever "played" in my life. Glad I paid less than £1.00 for it because If I'd bought it at full price, I would truly have felt ripped off. You do nothing apart from steer a neon car down a dark path that passes for a road. If you hit the pavement, it's game over and you restart. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll change my review if the devs do something with the game, but I doubt they will seeing as they are already working on other things...

Waste of time, money and electricity

This game is incredibly bad. It's insane that such a game cn be out in 2020s and it's not some abandoned amateur project from 1993. And don't get me wrong, this game is CLEARLY unfinished, but you still have to pay money to "play" it. Graphics is meh at best, but ok. Music is ok, but the engine noise is annoying as hell. So far, so meh, but it wouldn't be THAT bad. Sadly, this game also has gameplay (seriously, it would be better if it was an unplayable cutscene). When it comes to gameplay, the only thing that comes to mind is NES arcade racing games. But not the good ones or even medicore ones. It's like one from one of those pirated cardriges that had 99999 in 1 written on them and contained a few dozens of random games. There is nothing to do, you just drive or drive and collect some random stuff. It's the Atari 2600 level of simplicity. But you won't get bored? Why, you may ask? Because if you just touch an invisible line running paralel to the curb, it sends you directly to the Shadow Realm and game over screen. I had to see it 2 or 3 times to belive it. I thought it was a glitch, but no. You get too close to the curb, which is aparently made of landmines and you die. There is no reason to play it, even if you like playing bad games. The only funny thing that can happen is that when you enter your car (yes. for some reason you start outside of the car), you can sit in the back seat and you can't drive. You have to exit and sit in the front sit. Is this some kind of a joke? I don't know. The only good thing about it is that you can literally make a better game yourself. Get some free youtube tutorials and free assets and in a few weeks you will have something better than Synthwave Burnout. If you want something better now, there are infinite options: - random browser games from 2003 are better than this. - any game frome the 90s that costs like $1 is better. - you can play your favourite GTA game with Synth music as MP3 radio and it will be better.

hard to call it "a game"

I wouldn't even call it "a game". The message at the beginning says that you need to reach the finish line, but there is no way of telling how far is it, what are the game mechanics, do you compete with someone, etc. Touching the sidewalk results in game over, and you start from the beginning. I'm disappointed, not only with the devs who released such crap, but also with gog team who allowed it on their platform... By the way - it seems that the same studio (Whale Rock Games) has another game available on gog (NeverSynth), and it looks like a more recent version of the same concept...
