All four Syberia Games are available in the Syberia Collection at a bargain price!
Kate Walker, a young ambitious lawyer from New York, is handed what seems to be a fairly straightforward assignment. Just a quick stopover to handle the sale of an old automaton factory hidden in the alpine valleys, then straight back home to New York. Little did she imagine, when embarking on this task, that her life would be turned upside down.
On her expedition across Europe, traveling from Western Europe to the far reaches of Eastern Russia, she encounters a host of incredible individuals and locations full of extraordinary machines and an amazing atmosphere. In her attempt to track down Hans, the genius inventor - the final key to unlock the secret of Syberia - she will traverse both land and time on a journey that will throw all that she values into question, while the deal she sets out to sign turns into a life-changing experience.
World feels desolate, which matches thematically with the story, but when each location has maybe only one character it's a bit weird.
Some of the puzzles are a bit obscure.
Otherwise, the story and music are nice and well worth a look!
Indeed this game is beautiful, atmospheric and intelligent and yet somewhat depressing.
My greatest gripe with this game is that it suffers from the same issue which is found in several early third person point and click games, i.e., the character takes too long to travel between places.
And this makes the game tediously and unnecessarily long. I know a lot of effort went into making this game and the creators really wanted the gamers to experience the beauty of the game, but travelling long distances only to find out that was not the right place to visit, was annoying. This happens throughout the game.
Unless, you are using a walkthrough to solve puzzles, it becomes boring quite easily.
Question:
Chapter 2 (University) The conversation between the couple on the ship cannot be displayed.
The brightness is really too dark, although I know that many games during this period are like this. But this uncomfortable darkness led to missing important decrypted items and causing the process to jam.
Besides, the world is really fascinating. Wonderful giant machines, mechanism people, and mysterious backgrounds.
A woman protaognizing without D.E.I nonsense.
Writen by someone that understand the meaning of coherent dialog.
That is the essence of a good old game.
