All four Syberia Games are available in the Syberia Collection at a bargain price!
Kate Walker, a young ambitious lawyer from New York, is handed what seems to be a fairly straightforward assignment. Just a quick stopover to handle the sale of an old automaton factory hidden in the alpine valleys, then straight back home to New York. Little did she imagine, when embarking on this task, that her life would be turned upside down.
On her expedition across Europe, traveling from Western Europe to the far reaches of Eastern Russia, she encounters a host of incredible individuals and locations full of extraordinary machines and an amazing atmosphere. In her attempt to track down Hans, the genius inventor - the final key to unlock the secret of Syberia - she will traverse both land and time on a journey that will throw all that she values into question, while the deal she sets out to sign turns into a life-changing experience.

I bought this on a whim just cause I liked the title and saw something about mammoths and was intrigued. I must say the game did not disappoint. With out a question, one of the most original stories I've ever played. The main character had lots of very well developed depth, which was done in such a unique and amazing way.
The puzzles, some easy, some hard, but most I would think are do-able by the veteran adventure gamer. (I checked a guide when I got stuck) Over all though I think most are solvable with time. (Side note, syberia 2 has a couple puzzles that are 4 digit codes, these with out finding in-game notes, which I didn’t, id call pretty impossible.
Bottom like this is one of the few games I've actually been notably sad when it ended, and not because of the ending, but the fact that the game was over. If you like great stories, this is a must play.
I know this site is filled with 5 star games, as every game I see on this site has a fanbase. Then again that’s why it’s a GOG. But honestly this one truly deserves it.
A very well thought out game, with a creative storyline. It may start off a little slow but after learning more about the automatons I wanted to continue playing.
If you want to play a novel, Syberia is for you. It's not a click fest, and it's pretty easy - but it's all about the story. I learned about Kate ( the cell phone calls are character developments) and enjoyed the puzzles, there is a lot of repetition and you will visit the same areas, but it's like a fine wine. Take it slow, listen to the conversations and read the literature and you'll be amazed by this beautiful game. If you want a speed game with lots of action - avoid, but this is a great.
This game is timeless. I've played it many times and will keep on playing it because I miss the characters and love the scenery. It is like re-reading a classic novel for the joy of it. Though Kate Walker is rightly named because she does do a lot of walking, which can get a bit old if you are used to fast paced games. I am hoping they will make a third Kate Walker adventure. I love how she evolved to a self sufficient, independent person.
