All four Syberia Games are available in the Syberia Collection at a bargain price!

Kate Walker, a young ambitious lawyer from New York, is handed what seems to be a fairly straightforward assignment. Just a quick stopover to handle the sale of an old automaton factory hidden in the alpine valleys, then straight back home to New York. Little did she imagine, when embarking on this task, that her life would be turned upside down.

On her expedition across Europe, traveling from Western Europe to the far reaches of Eastern Russia, she encounters a host of incredible individuals and locations full of extraordinary machines and an amazing atmosphere. In her attempt to track down Hans, the genius inventor - the final key to unlock the secret of Syberia - she will traverse both land and time on a journey that will throw all that she values into question, while the deal she sets out to sign turns into a life-changing experience.

Pure Adventure Goodness

Syberia is an amazing adventure, I'm not a fan of this genre, but liked it a lot. Puzzles are very logical and simple in a good way. Storytelling and characters are great, it was especially nice to see how main character changes through out the game. Backgrounds look decent even today (character models - not so much).

Rad atmosphere, but sidequest gone wrong

Contains vague story spoilers: Overall, a nice game. The atmosphere got considerably mysterious at end of first part, and the graphics and backgrounds actually felt amazing for given era. (possibly except human models). Yeah, the mechanics were somewhat clunky, and you often thought "Oh, so i could do that?" when you had to check walktrough after getting stuck. However, the whole second half of the game felt like sidequest gone wrong - "Oh, you are going somewhere? How about you find person X for me in place Y that just happens to be at the only place you can get from here?" It was nothing more than doing random favours that had nothing to do with theme of the story, and at this point i lost all respect for the story. Picking potatoes would progress the story just as much.

I remember it fondly

This was a beautiful game created by an artist. I really enjoyed it when I played many years ago but it's not for everyone. It is a visual and emotional experience more than anything else.

One of my favorite childhood games

This is definitely one of Benoit Sokal's best games. The story is engaging and the ending was nice although it does kind of end on a cliffhanger. The characters are mostly well written, some aren't or they are forgotten half way through the game. The only bad thing about this game was the puzzles... They aren't very well made, but it doesn't stop the game from being a 5 star.

Unique.

Well, if (back in their days) Clive Barker’s Undying made me get into FPS games and Severance: Blade of Darkness made me get into RPGs, then Syberia 1 is the very game that made me to actually like adventure games! If you aren’t into adventure games yourselves and you want to try one, THIS should be it! Fantastic characters and story! From a lawyer in New York to the following of a dream. A dream of another, that becomes yours too! If you imagine that you can’t manage these kind of games, just be patient, think, and everything is perfectly solvable. But even with a walkthrough by your side, you’ve got to see this game nonetheless! And there is THE ending sequence that will NEVER get old!
