Since its first demo was released in the Fall of 2012, The Pit has become an indie hit with its blend of Roguelike action and sci-fi depth! Players were challenged to survive 30 floors of The Pit using one of three characters – the Marine, the Engineer, and the Scout – then in The Pit: MindGames players were given two new characters – the Psion and the alien Tarka Ranger – and ten more floors to survive through, as well as a wealth of new items, recipes, weapons, and nasty creatures to fight!
To celebrate the success of the series, we’re releasing this Gold edition, which not only gives you the game, the expansion, and all the free content we added along the way, but we’re adding three new playable characters – The Hiver Warrior, the Liir Seeker, and the Morrigi Striker! Now you can test yourself against The Pit using all the major races from the Sword of the Stars universe!

“The Pit--with its random elements and permadeath--is justified in its boast of replayability…” – PC Gamer
“Has that same feeling of ‘okay, just one more run’ that both Binding of Isaac or FTL: Faster Than Light have…” – Destructoid
Three new Character classes, each from a different previously unplayable alien race.
Over 65 new items.
Over 35 new monsters.
Over 50 new messages which means lots of all new hidden recipes.

Controller support (this was put in during MindGames, but bears repeating).
Hello,
I have had this game before from other places- if you are looking for ONE roguelike that is traditional to the "Berlin Interpretation" (that non-modal thing is funny because it's not essential just noteworthy, like the combat-onlyismery) then this will keep you in amusement for as long as you take to it.
Controller recommended because the sessions are LONG.
If you desire a hard-hearted roguelike that is an incarnation of the "Berlin Interpretation" then keep playing in 1980~ this will be too cheerful for you. Like more roguelikes, and even roguelites, this is a MANIFESTATION of the Berlin Interpretation of Rogue as understood my the internet-culture of our day.
God bless
In short, it's fun while you have all your starting equipment because the game is mostly filler enemies that annoying chip at your health, ammo and items while breaking your equipment so by the time you get into the game you have absolutely nothing but your worthless in-game fists.
Balancing the enemies with the map would help the game, because you basically get nothing from the start, 8 out of 10 playthroughs you'll probably get nothing remotely helpful to your current situation.
The game's full of filler and is repetitive. Would not buy again.
