Welcome to Broken Britannia

"Before Arthur’s Golden Age, our realm was lost, shattered and decadent; kingdoms torn apart by blind selfishness. A broken Britannia, void of hope."

The lord of Mercia has been assassinated, your love kidnapped and home is no more. As Uther, the disgraced Knight Commander, you must lead your misfit band of companions throughout quests riddled with trials. Forge uneasy alliances to acquire the mythical Excalibur sword and defeat the sinister power-obsessed duke of Wessex.

Prove your worth as a tactician by exploring all five realms and dangerous locations, such as a frozen fortress hiding a dark secret, an ancient abbey turned into a hideous torture chamber and the mystical island of Avalon. Survive ambushes and rescue those in need by making use of each hero’s abilities to solve puzzles and vanquish your foes. It is up to you define the fate of Britannia… But at what cost?

Combat in Sword Legacy: Omen is always a challenge. As a strategist, you will need to plan your course of action with four heroes at a time. However, be ready to adapt and improvise because results always change based on the chosen abilities and chances of landing an attack.

Good game. Aweful control

Game is interesting, not bad tactical fights. But mouse control is incradably bad: Miss-clicks Often click is not registred You can click to move the character at the same time as battle start and... accidently you destroy an explosive and die

Decent tactical combat game 2,5 stars

As the title suggest its a decent tactical combat game with some annoying flaws, my main two are the following. 1. Lack of an undo function, as when you are looking around the environment in combat several times during the game a missclick sent one of my heroes running the fuck off and not only wasting their turn but also several enemies and as this game is savepoint based this can mess up quite a bit of play time. several other games have undoes when you can't undo if you explored new areas or found new enemies this would be totally fine as well. 2. My second point is a bit connected to the first, when in exploration mode you still bound by the savepoint system fine but as you can interact wit the environment outside of combat as well again several times after a combat that can very well be several combats into a mission i was walking around to find all the lore bits etc and while doing so clicked on (again by mistake) one of the bits of the environment you can interact with and my hero promptly ran up to it hit the exploding barrel and died forcing me to redo the whole mission But then again the main gameplay is decent and i will probably finish the game but forcing me to replay sometimes almost half an hour of gameplay because of a missclick outside combat is really annoying.

Lackluster tactical RPG

Heavily underworked. Thats the best way I can describe this. You are a knight that needs to save his love and the Kingdom along the way. You do this with a party of characters while you explore the map for story elements as well as fight enemies. The maps arent big and usually you will have 2-3 fights in each. Im not going to go into detail how everything works. Im just going to say it doesnt work well. You fight enemies in a turn based format, first your team, then the enemies. But there are numerous issues, ranging from simple AI, that charges your weak characters first, to dubious game design decisions, like being able to pass through tiles that are occupied by friendly units. Its not overly complex, but many things arent properly explained. For example, how is damage calculated? I had numerous instances in the final missions where either my or enemy characters were one shot by a critical. Yet sometimes they deal just minimum damage ..... Short story, its a mess and it isnt fun. Story wise its a mess as well. Conceptually the story is alright, but the presentation, pacing, dialogue, character development, etc. are off the mark. You will be able to follow whats going on, but it will mostly be a chore. In terms of graphics the game is very simple. It went for a cartoonish look, which is fine. But it is also is trying to be dark, gritty, mature possibly? And the art style doesnt help that. Not that it couldnt be, but the tone here reminds me more of Torchlight and it shouldnt. The music here is also repetitive and can be out of place. Like battle music during pre-mission loadouts. I like the concept of this game, but the execution needs A LOT of work. I get the feeling it tries to be Dragon Age Origins, but on a much smaller scale. Which is fine, there should be more games like that. But even within its own limitations it doesnt work well .... There were nice touches within the gameplay and story that I enjoyed, but its not enough to carry it.

Tactics kinda matter! And thats good!

Initially I was sceptical of the claim 'every position matters' and it came true when I was one tile off and almost got a party wipe. Thats on the normal difficulty. While party composition SEEMS to be up to the users choice, meaning if you are recomended a Knight for a battle you can probably do without, but it certinly can help! The pacing is story, explore, fight, explore, fight, story. The explore so far isn't tricky but there are things to find. I'm glad you get a Theif character early because it always bothers me they put things for a Theif and you can't get to it. The only complaint I have is some of the character diolauge... I don't like Gwen (your Theif) ... but perhaps it's because of IRL stuff, but just comes off as self rightous or attempting a fourth wall break. Overall, its good and enjoyable. You don't get massive amounts of loot or XP so you can steamroll everything. You steamroll with tactics.

No support for high resolutions

UNPLAYABLE ON 3440x1440p monitor. 1920x1080p is the highest supported resolution. You can force it to full-screen but then the top and bottom visuals are off-screen. On my 3440x1440p monitor, this is unplayable unless it's played in windowed mode in a tiny 1080p box. There are steam threads showing the devs were requested 2-3 years ago to add ultra-wide support and they never have.
