SWAT 4: Gold Edition

This game has aged incredibly well. thanks to being able to edit an ini file you can run it in modern resolutions with no problems (I play it at 2560x1440), and in higher resolutions it actually looks fine, and runs really smoothly. If you like playing co-op games this is an absolute MUST BUY. There are so many funny situations that take place during a typical game, and the missions never get boring, thanks to the way the locations of enemies/items is randomised. I can't recommend this enough, even the single player content is very decent.

A sleeper hit that remained relevant thanks to a small and dedicated user base. SWAT 4 has become something of a cult classic in recent years thanks to a younger generation of streamers and YouTubers discovering and sharing this tactical delight with massive audiences for the very first time. The industry has remained faithful to team-based tactical shooters and the genre has really seen a revival with the return of Rainbow Six. SWAT 4 has arguably been the better, if underappreciated franchise. SWAT 4 is tactical shooting bliss. A game more about decision making and than strenuous, cumbersome planning or a snappy trigger finger. The tactical systems are streamlined yet retain more depth, the presentation is suspenseful and at times even frightening and the Unreal 2 engine remains a stalwart choice to power this then-groundbreaking title. SWAT 4 carries its weight very well and you would be hard pressed to find a more challenging and rewarding experience out there.

It's amazing how this game could still being fun to play coop with my friends, no need of high quality graphics and the tactical feeling it's so great, we are having great night sessions playing right now and I think this will continue for a long time!

SWAT 4 is arguably the best tactical shooter ever made. It has fantastic atmosphere, gameplay and sound that still holds up 12 years after release. It's a must play PC game in my opinion. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you never give it a shot.

I had such a wonderful time playing this game. In this game, you play as the leader of your swat team. Right before you start a mission, you are briefed to what your objective is and what you should be expecting and what weapons you should probably bring. Your goal is to clear out the buildings, and arrest all suspects. The game requires a well thought out plan and paitence, as any wrong move can kill you, your teammates, or even a civilian. The enemy and civilian placements are randomized, so replayability will always be different. This game is even better if your playing with friends, via LAN, exchanging ideas on how to pass the level. There's even a map maker in the files to create your own levels and share them. I highly recommand this game, but make sure to read fixes on how to use your custom resolution to the game. So what are you waiting for? Buy it, get some headphones and report to TOC!
