SWAT 3 Review After 23 Years

Great game, even in 2023.
I couldn't get it to start at first. My solution was replacing the movie/cutscene videos in the Swat 3 directory folder with the updated ones from Swat 3 Last Resort Mod site. You can also download a mod launcher from there for swat 3 to enhance your game if you wished to :) The game does work, but it's so old you might have to do a couple simple things to get it working again. It's not GOG's fault.

ive always loved this game ever since i first played it back in the day! ITs still as good as its always been! Get dgvoodoo and its so crisp and smoothe! i reccommend this game to anyone who likes og R6 ghost recon etc!!! Buy this game!!!!

Almost there...
It's not as good as SWAT 4, but that is really to be expected, isn't it? It's a good, demanding tactical game, that really gives a sense of accomplishment whenever you finish a mission. That said, it's not perfect. The interface is not as well designed as in SWAT 4 and not really intuitive, so giving commands takes some getting used to. More importantly, the friendly AI leaves a lot to be desired. Stairs seem to confuse your men utterly, making every staircase a potential deathtrap even when it should be a cakewalk, as you have everything planned and prepared. Still, AI faults and some awkwardness aside it's still more than worth a try.

Worked on windows 10
At least for me, no mods, troubleshooting, or dgvodoo where necessary in order for the game to work right out of the box on windows 10. Did get some weid fps drops here and there tho, that was weird. Otherwise, the game has a weird keyboard mapping layout, but it's to be expected for a 20 year old game, and can be changed. I played SWAT 4 first, but even this being an older game i'd recommend it as the experience is somewhat different, but familiar.
