SWAT 3: Tactical Game of the Year Edition

It is a decent game and works with some tweaks on Windows 11 (and a even better with the "Last Resort" mod). The principle of the game is simple. There is a crisis, but you dont just kill everyone but instead try to keep everyone alive. I am very surprised that this type of game seems to have died out after SWAT4 (RoN seems to be more of the shooter than de-escalation). What really impresses me, is how the devs and level designers managed to create a feeling of immersion: many levels are narrow and almost claustrophobic (like real buildings) and the AI barely gets stuck and is quite good in following orders, the civilians appear really frightened and the the bad guys do not always wear "bad guy uniforms" or behave like suicidal killers. Once you get the hang of it the game is not very difficult. It is also not very long. But it is a fantastic relief from the typical kill-everyone shooter.

This game e very good, In the beginning it is difficult to understand how the game will work on my windows 10 pc! But I found that you have to put compatibility with windows XP SP3! That will work well!

I so badly want to give this 5 stars, I'm currently working on 4 with the 2 big mods and it's absolutely amazing! even for todays standards. Swat 3 on the other hand just simply wont work :( I've tried all the fixes and it's just made me incredibly frustrated. I get about a 4 or 5 cycles of my desktop changing resolutions and thats the end of it. I've downloaded the movies fix, voodoo, and a few other odd things here and there. I'm sure its an awesome game but you're taking a chance on this one. Good Luck!

SWAT 3 and 4 are two of my favorite games of all time. Unlike every other FPS game SWAT encourages non-lethal violence and is a fun simulation of the work of SWAT teams. Swat 4 is my favorite and I will instantly buy that again as soon as it comes out on Gog.com. If you're a fan of Rainbow Six get this game!

I wasted my youth on this game. But launching it now, it seems to run at around 15FPS and feels unplayable :/
