Surviving Boredome
It'd be a nice little "sim city"-like game, and I like the setting and all, but the micromanagement part is just too tidious for me. Also, if you have, let's say, two different zones for your drones, which are a bit overlapping (so they should be able to move around with no issue), and you want to build something in one zone, but the required materials are in the other one, you need to manually command them, as they just won't move to another "command territorry" by themselves. Furthermore, I don't see any challange in this game: I was playing with settings that gave me 220% of difficulty (which, I guess, corresponds to a "normal" difficulty level), but there was NOTHING which would at least tried to destroy me, so it was pretty far from "surviving".

Empty clone
It works, but Mars is just a dirivative clone of other games of the genre that offers nothing new, and dosen't have a great story or humor or anything else going for it.

So much potential, but...
This game has a lot of potential and actually works well. I got the Linux Edition and enjoyed it until I realized there are OVER 60 Breakthrough Technologies, but you only get an opportunity to research and use 21 of them. That's not the problem though. The problem is that you get these Breakthrough Techs randomly? (or maybe based on the Sponsor you have and the Landing Spot you Pick?) but I keep getting garbage I don't want or need and that keeps me from getting what I DO want and need. "My" problem is that I want certain tech and can NEVER get it because I am FORCED to take USELESS tech just because of the way these Breakthroughs are offered up. However that is. If I could tell the researchers to stuff that tech into a hole somewhere because I think it's useless, and wait for the next tech to be discovered, the problem would be solved and the game would be not only playable, but one great game. Until they fix this issue, the game is not really playable once you know what you "Could" have instead of those wastes of time and tech, Landscaping Nanites and the many other Breakthrough techs that seem to simply waste your breakthrough tech slots. Fix this and the game gets 5 stars, but until then it is really unplayable due to frustration. Because of this I will keep checking for updates and hoping, but I won't be wasting anymore time trying to play a game that wants to dictate/force how I play.
