Great indie title!

First off, this is not really a game. It is basically just rendered images and plain english text, referred to as a visual novel. There is no voice acting nor sound effects, however there is some background music which fits the athmosphere nicely. Summer's Gone is about dating girls and more generally about pretty girls/women with certain, uhm, attributes. It seems to be mostly targeted at male adolescents. The player can occassionally make choices and they affect how the story proceeds. What's remarkable is the high quality of the renderings, and their sheer amount. It is easily thousands of images, and apparently almost everything was done by a single artist. Very impressive! Even though I'm too old for this game, I respect the excellent artwork and the decent writing. The price is very fair, I think the developer has earned some support, and I hope they will keep up the good work!

Better than Expected

If you are looking for an 'adult' novel, then you will probably be disappointed. A very well done story. An actual story with more realistic interactions that I expect from an AVN. But it's still fiction. I've only done one playthrough. I am curious to see what the other branches of the story are like.

The best narrative since Being a Dik

The game is excellent it exceeds expectations in terms of narrative, character development, graphics, and so on. My only concern is that the game brings up a lot of topics but doesn't conclude any of them. There's a lot going on, many characters to interact with, and nothing really gets resolved. On the contrary, it just keeps opening up new storylines. This could turn out to be something amazing or something very frustrating, because I don’t even know if I’ll be around to see the conclusion of these stories.

Excellent scenario and characters

The beginning is a bit all over the place and confusing, but it develops quickly into a great story, one of the best I have read in VNs so far. Very subjective of course. Graphics are also nearly top-tier despte a few misses, like a few lower quality models (gen3 leftovers ?) and very strange hair physics at times XD The lighting and composition are impressive, I suspect a proficient photographer. The portrayal of physchological issues and how broken people deal with them is also very good. The only problem in my opinion is that the odds of so many people with deep issues just happening to meet there is a bit weird, but it's really no big deal. It's not p..n, just erotic (so far?), and frankly I like it better that way, I often find animated sex scenes to be more disruptive than anything now that I played a bunch of VNs. Overall a very good surprise. Caveat: I haven't finished the game yet, I might update my review.

More like a book than a game.

This game is not much more than a series of still images that you click through with your mouse. There's a lo-fi hip hop soundtrack that plays and you can change tracks, or pause/play with a set of controls hidden in the upper-right of the screen. So far, there hasn't been any other audio in the game. All dialogue and the story are delivered in subtitles at the bottom of the screen. Occaisionally, you will get a choice between two or three dialogue responses, but I'm not sure how, or if, they change the story. The artwork is really nice. The story is alright, but there are some odd dynamics between certain characters. Not sure who the devolpers are, but this game has a very "Asian" feel to it. Whatever that means. As a native English speaker, I found some of the interactions to not really fit together in a natural way, like something was lost in translation. Overall, I really like the soundtrack and I've had it open in the background while I do other stuff, like lo-fi hip hop on YouTube. Don't expect this to be a proper "game." I wouldn't call it a game. More like an illustrated e-book. I got it free on GOG, so it's all good. If I had paid $$ for it expecting an actual game, I'd be disappointed. Having said that, I *have* bought worse games... If nothing else, it's got a good soundtrack.
