In the year 2047, a massive comet ravages Earth's surface and the remnants of mankind descend to the bottom of the ocean in order to survive. A century passes, and humans, resilient and enduring, slowly create new life in their cool blue underwater universe. But even in the still of the deep, one truth remains... where man goes, war soon follows. The craddle of civilization has spawned the seeds of man's destruction and now all the oceans of the world are not big enough for the embattled civilizations of the power-hungry White Sharks, the technologically savvy Black Octopi and the alien Silicons. Deploy armies, research technologies, mine for resources and set in motion a plan to gain control of this spellbinding abyss or find the fate of civilization and mankind dead in the water.

Why buy on GOG.COM?

I discovered Submarine Titans on clearance for five bucks in a GameStop in the 2000s, and played it pretty religiously back in the day.
I'm overjoyed to have found it on GOG and gotten the chance to relive the memories of this game. :D
I played this game when I was really young and it started my RTS enjoyment. While the story was lacking, I liked the gameplay. There are also funny cheat codes. I might have encountered a few bugs but nothing too strange...
I like the whole idea of a totally underwater RTS. Units being able to interact at different depths is really cool too.
However I'm finding that the user interface in the game leaves much to be desired. It tries to do a lot, and since the game is old enough that it only runs in a 4x3 aspect ratio at a low resolution, the end result is a clunky and crowded interface. Resource collection is also problematic at times. On many maps there aren't a lot of resources near the base's starting point. As a result resource collection is slow, yet the AI always seems to have an abundance of resources to quickly build a large army.
The game would have benefited from a sleeker UI akin to Command & Conquer's, and better resource distribution on the map. The developers of this had a cool vision though. I would love to see either a remake or a modern game with a similar concept of being an underwater RTS.
