Street Fighter Alpha 2

I had no idea there was a pc version. I just tried this out and although it's not the best version of alpha 2 out there (the PS2 Alpha collection is better as well as the original psx release of alpha 2)... however it's still alpha 2 and a lot of fun. Alpha 3 had more characters and a few changed game mechanics (for the better imo) but alpha 2 has my favorite Ryu stage. Actually it's my favorite Street fighter stage period. You know...the tall grass blowing in the wind and the intense lightning flashes? It's my favorite. Is it worth getting for this stage? No. But if you enjoyed SF alpha in the past and are looking for a way to play on your pc this isn't bad.

What is wrong? - Lose half an inch on the right and left side of the screen (only noticeable when the characters are fighting in the corner) - It does not have reflections in the water in some stages - Some frames were removed in some character animations. (Only in animations before and after the fight, those of presentation and celebration) PRO: - You can configure the controls - 60fps - Arcade, vs, training - No crash - Good sound I consider that the game is perfectly playable, and that the bad things that it has do not interfere with the correct gameplay.

A barely functional shadow of the game. Do NOT purchase if you expect to be able to plug in your fight stick and get the experience from the arcade, same goes for just about anything that isn't a logitech game-pad and even then it's extremely faulty. Poor purchase from my behalf and not doing previous research on the forums. A real shame since this is probably one of the best incarnations of the series.

This port of "Street Fighter Alpha 2"? I figured that it was probably a newer port, for the PC, that does it great! But unfortunately, I was wrong. While at LEAST it's playable, it just doesn't feel the same. Even with the newest, most powerful PCs involved? The game's movement and animation just gives me a MASSIVe headache, that just looks bad to look at! Plus, the menu? It's just a PAIN to get used to, as well! This is in NO WAY, worth your money! If you want this video game, for a newer game platform? You're best off buying "Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary Collection", for ANY game console it was officially released on!

I have been playing this game, since the playstation 1 era, back then when I was still a kid. Other people have already pretty much described every issue of this game. So, I would recommend avoiding this crappy port and try playing this gorgeous game in a saturn/playstation emulator. I am giving this 2/5, mostly of sentimental reasons and the memories I have from this game back in the days.
