Bought to Play with Kids - Not so great
I write this because to give a different perspective from the top reviews which did not match my experience. "This is boring doing the same thing over an over again." What started out well turned into that quote and end of play. I played for about two hours with my 6-year-old watching before she couldn't stand the constant reloads and frustrating retries. She did like the characters, the mysterious writing on the wall mystery, and the occasional glorious landings. I'm not the best platformer by any means but I'm not the worst. The jumping puzzles (i.e. the whole game so far) have no mechanic beyond checkpoints for recovering from mistakes. So you reload a lot. And do the same jumps a lot. And although I know exactly what I want to do, the grappling hook still has me bumping into things (--> fall + reload) a lot. I think the mechanics of the grappling hook need to be reconsidered. 4 stars for environment and beauty 3 stars for story / depth 2 stars for gameplay (considering this is 2014 and other jumping/acrobatic platformers have more fun / constructive ways of dealing with falling).
