So far so awesome!
Haven't even scratched the surface of this one yet, but so far the depth and attention to detail is amazing. The dizzying array of options makes for a steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of the self-guided style of the tutorial that doesn't hold your hand too much it's pretty fun.

I'm liking it
Been playing this for a few hours now. I'm not a expert at this type of strategy game by any means, but the tutorials are making the learning curve a bit easier to endure. So far I'm having fun learning how the game mechanics work and exploring new worlds. There is a lot of detail and some decent story line elements to this game that make it engaging. I should also mention that I've purchased several of the DLC's, so your take on this may vary depending on which DLC's you have installed. Some of the DLC's add a lot to the game (some good, some not so good). I did some research into the game and the various DLC's before buying this, so you may want to do that too. Overall, though, I'm having a great time.

Way to overpriced for what it is
Firstly, the loading time is absurdly long. There are a lot of forum articles about it suggesting this is a known problem of a very resource hungry game. Then you end up in a UI with the tiniest fontsize. Somebody made a mod for it to fix it, but ... This is a quite expensive game if you add a handful of the very many DLCs to the mix. On top when reading the other comments talking about multiplayer via paradox servers only and the likes. I was already on the edge of not-buying. At that price level I dont want to play around with 3-rd party mods to get the game running the first place. I asked for a refund. Shame, looked fun,

Amazing game
If you people would make it so that pathfinding for fleets doesn't ignore systems with enemy vessels of all forms (empire, spacefaring species, the leviathans, etc) I'd probasbly give it 5 stars. However, due to the 6 month period between autosaves and the really stupid pathfinding, I just spent 2 hours reloading the same year 5 times.
