REVOLUTIONARY PARIS IS YOUR PLAYGROUND


Using carriages, grapples, secret passages, a detailed map, and other methods and tools you find along the way, explore a city experiencing its darkest days. Your grappling hook adds a new dimension to exploration and Paris's verticality. Combined with your dash ability, it will provide access to all the city's secrets across multiple levels you can explore over and over again.

CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY


You are one of the main characters of an alternative history where Paris is being choked by a tyrant king. Allies and enemies with unclear motives will cross your path, such as Marie-Antoinette, Lafayette and Robespierre. Steelrising is a new Souls-like twist on the French Revolution that unfortunately doesn't see all of its lofty ambitions grow into accomplishments. While its gameplay is enjoyable once you get far enough to earn some unlocks and get main character Aegis more decked out, it tries to mimic elements of FromSoftware's action RPG classics without always understanding what made said elements work. When Spiders leans less on taking inspiration from other games and more on presenting its own ideas, however, we get an intriguing-and surprisingly deep-alternate take on an important moment in France's history.

Sacre bleu!

Ok, guys, I love to leave 5 star reviews but I just can't on Steelrising. The devs had an awesome idea for a game but they just didn't implement it very well. The voice acting is awesome. The combat is clunky, at first, but it gets better. The story is decent but the receptiveness, as others have mentioned, gets old quickly. I bought this game on sale for $23.xx. I wish I would have waited until GoG dropped it to $0.99; they will eventually. The graphics are awesome, the voice-acting is awesome, the mechanics (gameplay) is decent but the linear journey is as interesting as playing King's Quest on PC. Dude, if you are thinking about buying this game, wait until it goes on sale for, like, under $3.00. The devs for this game had a great ides, the execution was just off...by a lot. Playing this game for over 2 hours made me want to start playing Dying Light again. And that's what I'm doing.
