Plunge into the depths of STASIS: BONE TOTEM, the latest installment in the STASIS anthology.
A new story, new characters, and a new underwater environment to explore.
Follow Mac and Charlie, a husband and wife duo, who make their living scouring the ocean for salvage. But, when they stumble upon an abandoned oil rig in the Pacific Ocean, they uncover a horrific secret that Cayne Corporation will do anything to keep hidden.
As you embark on your adventure playing Mac, Charlie, and their trusty Super-Toy, Moses, you'll encounter an immersive narrative filled with spine-tingling horror and unexpected twists. Combining the thrilling storytelling of STASIS and a tense underwater setting, STASIS: BONE TOTEM offers a personal story that will test the limits of family resilience.
Navigate through a massive underwater base, complete intricate puzzles, and solve an ancient secret concealed at the bottom of the ocean. BONE TOTEM features the same isometric, point-and-click gameplay that made STASIS a classic fan favorite, but with a new cast and a unique setting that will leave you gasping for breath.
With stunning visuals, a music score by Mark Morgan, a screenplay written by a Hollywood ace, voice acting by veteran actors, and a gripping storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat - STASIS: BONE TOTEM is a must-play game for horror and sci-fi adventure fans.
So what are you waiting for? Dive into the unknown and uncover the BONE TOTEM beneath the waves.
Statis: Bone Totem is a great sequel to original Statis and a great addition to genre containing SOMA, Alien: Isolation, System Shock and other great Sci-Fi horrors. Visual presentation is top notch, audio is appropriately conveying the horror of the environments and voice acting is significantly improved.
The game weaves a compelling mystery (of the "we found everyone dead on this station" type) with relatable characters and the type of horror that slowly, but surely gets under your skin. It's a great time.
This is a 5/5 amazing game... for first three chapters. And then it all falls apart, with needles last chapter full of repetitive dialogue, mazy environments and story that just refuses to end and brings in a whole new environment that is just annoying and tedious. It should all just be cut.
Still, do not take this too negatively - it's a game surely worth your time.
Set in a world of STASIS, The Brotherhood's studio debut game, where Cayne is a God, Bone Totem is another masterpiece of storytelling. It has a creepy atmosphere that, along with the music, keeps you anxious as you play: great voice acting and art direction.
The creators were influenced by H.R. Giger (there is even an image of a xenomorph in the game), but there is also Lovecraft and Mesoamerican influence in there as well as some of the movies, primarily "The Bone Tomahawk".
The only remark I have is that it's too dark. Yes, it's set in darkness on the bottom of the sea, and creators wanted to achieve the feeling of player being trapped there, but still we miss some of the great visuals.
This game has a good storyline and will keep you busy for some time. The twists in the story make it more interesting. The gameplay is smooth, some puzzles are a bit frustrating but overall it is a very good game.
...and I've been enjoying computer games for 35+ years! The story was utterly compelling and emotionally and intellectually gripping. If you like extremely well-made adventure games with a few brain-teasers along the way, you'll be delighted with this game. Test your intellect and see if you can solve the puzzles without referring to the very well rendered .pdf game guide that is included with the game. I couldn't...;) But my defense is merely that the story was so enthralling that I found myself short on the patience required to get through the puzzles in order to advance the story! One thing I will say about the puzzles--all of them fit within the game! That is, there are no puzzles to solve that lack a relationship to the progress of the characters in the game--all are in context, and that I think is a big and positive point to make. I refuse to give any of the plot away, and I won't comment on it because you must play this game to fully appreciate it, with no preconceived notions going in. I'll just say for most of the considerable length of the game I was nailed to the edge of my seat! Highly recommended!
I'd love to see a Stasis 3!
If you are familiar with point and click adventures you will get more of the same puzzles and gameplay,
the strongest element of the game is the emotion and organic story progress.
