My first early access burnq
I will forever remember Starbound as my first early access burn. First time an unfinished piece of shit tricked me into buying it.

A Terraria like experience with a twist!
I feel like most of these user reviews on GOG are under-rating a game that ISN'T EVEN FINISHED YET. Their big 1.0 update is just around the corner, I recently got the game and so far I'd have to disagree with most of what has been said negatively about this game. The combat is just as fluid as Terraria's, weapons are unique and have a different way to fight with each one, and most of which have special abilities. I feel like crafting is done in a better fashion, no more building wooden walls, just right click using wooden blocks and they get set in the background! They have a pretty streamlined quest system so far that do a good job of helping you get the hang of the game. Story is coming very soon!! <- Something of which Terraria lacks altogether. You start out in your ship that's been broken down and you're left with getting it up and running again. Your teleporter can become functional right away so you can go down to orbiting planets, and from there you are working towards getting your ships thrusters repaired and the FTL drive. So far, I feel like this game is under-rated. It's a really cool sci-fi twist of Terraria with a flavor of its own. You can choose which Species you play as, which each have different sets of gear etc they can make for themselves. It's possible to sleep inside tents, beds, etc to restore health as well! I've only but scratched the surface and there's still hundreds and hundreds of hours to come. When you join your friends server, you can party up with them and teleport to their ship so you can explore the same planet together as well (just like you'd expect it to be possible). I'm personally looking forward to exploring many more planets in my journeys ahead with my brother and looking forward to their Story they are bringing that involves you being a Protector in training. The protectors belong to the Terrene Protectorate... You basically guard the galaxy, check it out. :) http://playstarbound.com/final-approach-to-1-0/

Surprising.
I'm a sucker for most of the aspects of this game. Space. Robots. Crafting. Procedurally generated. That being said, this game has provided some of the most organic narratives I've ever experienced in a sandbox game. Digging into a rare or strange biome and just trying to think "What is this about?" has led me to eagerly explore many times.
