i'm gonna play this game for sure, at least testing it out a bit; i grew up with the 70's movies & played x-wing in the mid 90's; fun fact : i have just the 3 movies from the 70's on dvd but not the episodes '1 2 3' from the 2000's, ain't catching me somehow enough

Doesn't Work
I downloaded it but every time I tried to play it the old original menu would flash up saying "install" etc. I would click "Install" and an error message would ping up saying it didn't detect the disc. I can't find any way around that so binned it and refund requested. Gutted I couldn't go on my nostalgia trip

for anyone who ever played x-wing or tie-fighter back in the pc era known as DOS then you will feel right at home, same controls, same...well....almost everything except now you have a neat little mission editor(not as beefy as I would like though)for making your own missions ……. KEWL!!!!!!!!!!!! yes you DO need a joystick to play this game but would you really want to play it without one? I think not. my only caveat(hope I am using that term in the correct way?) is you are stuck with the visuals you are stuck with...yes they are better than the old DOS visuals but not by much, I wish there were options for being able to toggle this sucker to the max and make it look really good, but the visuals are good enough to get the job done, bottom line is FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE best game you will ever play
i still have this game today and I'm not going to lie, you will LOVE this game from running cargo to fighting the empire this game has it all the only thing is that they got rid of multiplayer but then again hardly anyone plays anymore it anyways

Very Excited
I am extremely conflicted on purchasing this game due to the fact that i have this currently installed on my system. If you do not want to go through the headache of working around the original 16 bit installer then this is perfect. The next time I need to reinstall everything on my system I plan on popping by GOG and picking up this amazing game. I can only give 4 stars now until i know that the XWA craft pack will work.
