Conclusion: It's a badly designed game and it's a bad console port!
I have mixed feelings about this game. I've played through it multiple times and tremendously enjoy the story and the fact is, it is just plain fun.
That said, the PC version is crippled by it obviously being a bad port from a console game. The control scheme barely works on the PC, and you can't do even simple things like throwing objects straight. Instead, they go zinging off to the side or somewhere else. The targeting system is just completely broken.
Also, two of the main fights are very poorly implemented. Pulling down the star destroyer and the Kasdan Paradus fight are infuriating. Like everybody, else I dread the star destroyer pull down fight because it takes forever and it just gets reset with new tie fighters too quickly. I'm absolutely stunned that they never went back and fixed it. The Kazdan Paratus fight it's just ridiculous because they made him immune to everything except one move and you just have to sit there and do the same move over and over and over again to beat him. In fact the game philosophy seems to be that they make a fight difficult by simply making opponent simply immune to everything that you have in terms of powers.
In short, it really is a very good but deeply flawed game. If they had just simply gone back and fixed the control scheme in a couple of fights it would have been a masterpiece.
As they say, nothing you say before but mean anything.
Only minus I have for FU is camera control, or it lack on some locations, specially on bosses fights.
If that would work properly it would get 5 stars from me.
Story is refreshing, has shadows and disbeliefs. You feel that you have no choice, but your choice is how you take your destiny. And that's heroic.
The store page has what looks like a very polished nice graphic game, what I got was a buggy hot mess. From it not recognizing my mouse input, to constant to the desktop crashes (it even signed me out of windows for some reason) to clipping of large object like boulders thru walls, to graphical glitches of disappearing landscape assets.
The five minutes I could play was a hoot tho, being a god Darth Vader smearing those despicable rebels into wall grease was a blast. Too bad I didnt research before I impulse bought, forums are full of threads regarding the above errors and a crap ton of player fixes to try and work around it. I expect that from old rpgs like morrowind or fallout, not this relatively newish game.
one of the rare times I asked for a refund.
I had a lot of fun. I played it on not-gaming laptop and everything ran smoothly and nice. It's not an extra ordinary game but definitely must-have for SW funs. I also liked the plot. I definitely recommend it to everybody.
