Good ol Times
Thanks GOG I got this title back on my computer. As a fan of the empire, I never was happy with all the Star Wars games dealing alone with the Rebell Alliance. Here in this game I finally got the chance to prove, that the Alliance never should have a chance to win. On any difficulty level. Without the deathstar.... :P Only major flaw in this game: the event "natural disaster"....if you like to play longterm, this overpowered event will randomly wipe out economicalwise one planet after another, because it kills infrastructure/mines, which are then gone forever. No repair/ replacement possible. The planet is then a poorhouse and can barely sustain planetary defence and that´s it. In frustration I remember myself blowing them up with a death star (after the rebells easily conquered them), which did not even change their planetary value much. lol This, plus old graphic makes my 4 stars. Tip: Use as many lancer frigates as possible against the Alliance´s masses of fightercrafts.

Great old game!
This is a great old game! It plays well on just about any system. The first time I ran it, the icons all loaded upside down as some people have indicated, but when I ran it again, it worked right. This game is not a quick playing game. On the small galaxy it took me a few evenings to win. Playing as the Empire is a little easier. Your ships and troops are better than the Rebels, but their fighters are better. You also have better officers, but almost no diplomats. It can be hard to trace down those last few Rebels at the end though! As the Rebels, you start very weak, but some of your later ships and troops are quite good. You also tend to have better diplomats, so you can draw planets in sooner than the Empire can. The key to playing them is not to attack until later in the game. Use your Espionage to disrupt the Empire.

Great Game & Memories, just 1 thing
Star Wars Rebellion is still one of the best RTS Star Wars games out there, I too had the graphic issues other reviewers mentioned however, they cleared up after 1 or two times starting the game and haven't repeated. My only criticism is I'm unable to skip the opening situational briefing of every game like I was able to do with the CD-Rom. Fix that and the game will be perfect!

Solid game
Really good RTS Graphical glitch occurs if running through steam - runs fine on my PC with pictures the right way up if you launch it direct from windows explorer. Having great difficulty getting local multiplayer to work though. Any tips on this one would be greatly appreciated!
