Star Wars™: Rebel Assault

Rebel Forces have won their first battle against the dark side... But the war has only just begun!

As Rookie One, you are thrust into a 3D galaxy far, far away to crush the evil Empire, once and for all. Take your T16 Skyhopper on a training run through Beggar's Canyon... Then dodge asteroids and blast TIE fighters in a deep space rumble... tackle a fleet of menacing AT-ATs on the icy tundra of Hoth... and ultimately annihilate Vader and the evil Empire with a kamikaze trench run on the infamous Death Star.

Star Wars™: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire

The story opens in the vicinity of the Dreighton Nebula, where Rookie One is part of a Rebel scouting patrol. He's investigating disappearances of Rebel spacecraft near Dreighton, a region rich with mythology about vanishing spacecraft. Legends of the region go back to the days when early hyperspace travelers lost their bearings and disappeared in the currents, eddies, and storms of the nebula. during the Clone Wars, two opposing combat fleets, at the height of battle, were swallowed up by the Dreighton Nebula, leaving it as the battle's only true victor.

Featuring original, live-action Star Wars footage, Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire hosts a multitude of ground-breaking improvements, including intuitive and challenging arcade game play; fifteen land, sky and space missions; an original Star Wars story; full-Screen high-quality video; four skill levels from easy to hard; a digital John Williams Star Wars soundtrack; and authentic sound effects by Skywalker Sound.

2 games that i grew up with.

I grew up playing rebel assault 1 on my grandparnets apple computer and enjoyed very much. It still plays like I remember, but this one is missing one control input, THE KEYBORAD!!! I was able to use the keyboard when i played it. This one doesn't have that option and now i can't get past level 3 with the mouse. I can beat the other levels with the mouse but level 3 is too hard for me. Rebel Assault 2 Is a fun and hard as heck on the harder diffculties but possible to beat and comes with keyboard controls!

Back than it looked good

Oh, those memories. I bought the fastest drive (3x speed) for this game. The store owner even begged me to let him show it off in his window. And then the game. It was like being in a movie theater. Simply amazing. The actual game was crap. I think it was the first railroad shooter. It was basically just for showing off to friends. Today, the game (like most oldies) is only good for a memory...but spending money on it or even playing it would never occur to me.

Aged poorly, not worth the effort

I really wanted to get into this game, I remember wanting this as teenager in the 90s and my parents not willing to upgrade the computer for it. Fast forward to today and there's nothing fun about it at all; who wants to waste time on what was basically a CD-ROM tech demo in the early years of the medium? Modern computers run way too fast for the control scheme and you'll find yourself exploding A LOT in what should be tutorial levels. I managed to find some cheat codes that would boost my health back up so I could keep going in the game but even then there was nothing really worth playing for. I don't mind rail-shooters per se if they're well done, but this one is not. I ended up watching a play-through on YouTube to get the gist of the game's story-line. My experience was all with #1, but I was so turned off of the series I did not load up #2; I also watched it on YouTube and was not impressed with what I saw either. I give it a 2nd star because I'm sure it'll be a hoot for nostalgia sake for those who did play it in the 90s when it first came out. But don't pay more than $3 for the pair of games and be ready to tinker with it to try and get it playable.

Star Wars - Racer - Rogue Squadron 3D - Starfighter - Battle for Naboo and Shadows are easily played and fun, if you wish to struggle and die over and over these are your games, they won't take cheat codes eather
