STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic

It would be nice if it could be updated and work at a higher resolution.

Incase anyone is wondering this version IS plagued by the post combat frozen character bug. Otherwise an awesome game brought down by a rather annoying bug.

A good story doesn't age, that statement rings true for this game. However some elements of the gameplay and visual style have so I definitely reccomend you slap some mods on. I highly recommend following this mod build if this is your first time: https://www.reddit.com/r/kotor/wiki/kotormodbuildspoilerfree Jolee Bindo and HK-47 are top tier companions and I love their humour. Bastila is quite the broken record when it comes to repeating how easy it is to fall to the dark side, it gets quite annoying. Also I personally HATE missable quests and this game has a couple, to make sure you dont miss out on what else this game has to offer be sure to make a separate save before you enter the star forge for a second time.

It was a great game, for its time. Like most old games, the majority of the people who will play this are people who will more than likely played this at some point, either to completion or not. The mechanics of the game are for its time, as well as many aspects of the game. The story is nice, and if you can play it with the understanding it is an older game, then you should have a decent time. My advice would be to either get this on Switch or get the original Xbox version (for use on Xbox One or Series S/X) if you want to have a (mostly) stress free time running this game. On a side note, I find it ridiculous to see recent reviews claiming "left-wing" propaganda on this game. This is an old game, with all the trappings in programming, storytelling and tropes of their time, sure, but honestly, the examples they put are skewed at best. The concepts that they allude to in some cases were not even a hint of one back when the game came out! People will see what they want to see though, if they look hard enough. Still, ridiculous to see such narrow perspective on things they don't like... It is a game. Treat it as such and you'll do fine. Again, if you get the GOG version, be prepared for some compatibility issues.

It´s a time of desperation: 2003! The mighty LucasFilm empire destroyed the famous Franchise with 2 movies which can only be described as total bullshit and the next movie won´t be much better! But a famous Company which never had anything to do with Star Wars made a game that will show Lucas how to tell a story and the game itself bleeds Star Wars every second, while the Prequelmovies only bleed "WTF is this shit?". KOTOR is one of the best SW games of all time. Thrilling story with a lot of interesting characters and you can choose between good and evil which is great. So you can play as Sith and as Jedi and after you finished it you will see how much cooler the Sith really are. And don´t be scared by the D&D System. KOTOR was my first Bioware game back then and it´s not that complicated and on the lower difficultys it´s also not that hard.
