STAR WARS™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga

My brothers are 10 years older then me, and we all have different tastes. Ones a WW2 buff, anothers a music buff, then there is me who is into the medivle culture. My brothers are also into turned based. While I preferr the mix of turn and real time (Like Total War series or Lords of the Realm) This ... was the one game that got us to come together. Even tho I nearly always picked the rebles, and one of my brothers picked the gungans, and my other brother played 'Thrawn style Empire' (wasn't really a choice but its what he liked) this was the one game we could get together and play. Not so much compeditivly as I was more skilled, but it was nice to get on n play against a powerful AI opponent. Other then that, its quite litirally Age of Empires 2 with Star Wars paint. If you like Age of Empires, and you like Star Wars, you should buy this. Tho i don't have it (yet) its going in the library since my brothers have been wanting to play it again, since GoG now has it for the better price. :D

One of them most underrated star wars games out there and well worth it if you enjoy star wars as it use to be

The game has some flaws where the defense has a big advatage, but it is still alot of fun to play. I play the old games because I really do not have time to learn new games. I only play in spurts.

Intro logos and video will play but game encounters an error after the intro video. "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application." Installed DirectPlay like it asks but no dice.

This is a fantastic classic game that still holds up. I've put hours into this game and I always come back to it. Great fun for fans of RTS games and Star Wars. When the game was originally released it was available on Mac, so I'm not sure why it's Windows-only here on GOG. Would love to see it eventually re-released on Mac as well.
