This is a remaster ? wow
This is plain terrible. The worst part of the game remade new, but just as bad.

A Clean, Smooth Remaster
If you haven't played this game yet, you're in for a treat. It's beautiful, if you keep in mind this was a AAA+ title back in 1995. Doom was the chief competitor, and this game carved out solid market share. Thematic environments coupled with a progressing story, and excellent sound & voice acting added immersion FPSes had been lacking. The game allowed players to virtually navigate the Star Wars universe for the first time outside of rudimentary arcade polygons. It wouldn't be until Goldeneye two years later when the next FPS benchmark was hit. This game's 2D art style would be missed in sequels as full 3D graphics began to blossom, and the silly infatuation with full motion video gripped the industry. Thankfully, that fad went the way of the dodo. The mouselook improvements alone are worth the asking price. This game made some of the first attempts at free look in an FPS, but ultimately amounted to only needing to "look up" to hit a trooper shooting you from a roof. Aiming at such angles was spotty in the original. There was a button just to snap your head back to center as altering your look could hamper gameplay, and returning to true level with the horizon was a hurculean task. All this has been improved providing full range of look joined with play benefits you'd expect out of a 3D environment. This Remaster is cheaper than the 1995 retail price of 49.99, combine that with the fact your money is worth less than 30 years ago. You can go risk downloading some fan remake, and host the latest iteration of Stuxnet while you're at it! Me, I'm sticking with trusted pros, and giving them their due to support future endeavors. Here's hoping Dark Forces II is on their agenda! If you can't afford the asking price, wait for a holiday sale, and it'll be even more worthwhile. Me, I don't fault people wanting to be paid for their work, and I can't recommend playing this piece of gaming history enough. I have noticed zero sound issues, only improvements.

Absolute rip-off price
As someone who purchased the original DOS version, 30 dollars with a measly five dollar discount is an insulting price.

Too expensive, no matter the quality
Even if it is remastered a bit, €30 is simply not a reasonable asking price.

The force is strong with this one
Another game from my childhood remastered in spectacular fashion. Thank you, Nightdive Studios!
