Description
Sometimes, the only way to restore peace is to wage war.
The alliance between the Klingons and the United Federation of Planets has never been stronger. Together, they begin construction of a starbase with the ability to detect cloaked ships in the neutral zone. The only things standing in their way: the Romulans. Play three sides of an epic conflict for control of the galaxy. Although the challenges are many, the goal is one - command your starship to victory for your empire.
Customize each ship's weapons, shields and combat systems to create thousands of ship variants. Recruit crew members who improve your fleet by gaining experience and abilities.
Play 4 exclusive levels as the Borg. While piloting the powerful Borg Cube, battle Klingon and Federations forces as you track down rogue Borg.
Engage in large-scale, real-time, ship-to-ship combat. Improved multiplayer Dynaverse mode allows dozens of players to fight for galactic supremacy.
Best of the bunch for me.
Streamlined compared to the previous two.
Graphics look old today, though they were nice when it came out.
Let down today by constant crashes at the moment.
Hope to see it get fixed so its stable and i could play it through again.
Counting on a resolution from GoG.
As others have posted, I too had the issue of the game initially launching, showing the Paramount logo video, then a developer video, then the game intro video, however, when the "game menu" appeared, it only had the top left with no way to see or navigate to a game or mode.
I tried various compatibility settings for the shortcut, WinXP SP2 (and others), 256 colors, run as admin, etc., with no luck.
I also tried the dgVooDooSETUP.exe file which can be downloaded from various places, which usually gets some of my older games working with no luck. I think this software emulates "video calls" converting them to older video graphic commands for modern video cards. I tried DirectX and GLIDE settings to no avail.
Win10 Home, v10.0.19043 Build 19043
AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor 4 Core
AMD Radeon RX5700XT 8GB vRAM GPU
48GB RAM (Not a typo, forty-eight GB)
Worked right away for me with no tweaks needed, but its kind of unplayable - the mouse flickers A LOT so you're never quite sure if you're actually clicking where you mean too, the control of the ship is way off to the right of the ship itself, No form of camera control (even if I thought you could?) and generally its just a bit wonky and not very playable.
