Beautifully Terrifying!
I'm a big fan of Stalker and its titles, though this is not a perfect one, it's still a more than an enjoyable experience. I'm keen to experience future development of this title, and look forward to its general improvement as the game does have optimisation issues and features that are yet to be fully realised. This company and its nation has been through hell with the current conflict taking and threating the lives of those who've worked on this verry title. My heart goes out to Ukraine and its people. Stalker offers an immersive exploration into a wildly twisted deteriorating Ukrainian environment, inhabited with anomalous horrors. Forgotten man made structures look beautifully eery against the cold European natural flora. Combat against formidable animalistic terrors, hostile human inhabitants, all while searching for anomalies to better your chances in the Zone or to sell for profit. If you're a fan of stalker and/or similarly themed titles, you'll be pleased.

I am optimistic for its future
Yes, there are issues. Many performance issues are probably mitigated here as I got a RTX 4080 Super OC during black friday sales and first started playing with that. While it dips at times, it had not bothered me greatly. With frame generation performance is solid, or will be when that stops causing CTD's every few hours. I usually get 50-60 FPS, maybe. Down to ~30 in some cutscenes, though not really that noticable if I didn't have the counter in the corner. The quests are fun, the gunplay is great. Most weapons seem rather good, causing a need for decisions about whether to upgrade current weapon, or save the money to invest in a better one a bit later. The environment, and basically everything graphic, looks incredible. While the a-life isn't there yet, the nature itself feels alive with wind, storms, and otherwise rough weather. Even with somewhat frequent saving, I can very much feel the rush in intense fights, knowing both me and the (human) enemies can die extremely fast. The mutants, sometimes less so. I find the first person cutscenes to flow really well, and add to the immersion in a way that could easily be lacking for storytelling without them. So many familiar names of people and places, but with interesting new lore. Then again, I really enoyed and was greatly immersed in Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, too. I'm halfway at best, spending a lot of time messing around. So far I am more than satisfied with the ultimate edition. Good starting point, I think it'll only get better. Both from official patches, and mods.

I like it so much.
I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat at the age of 16 and right now I'm 25. Writing review after 50+ hours of gameplay. Started playing on patch 1.0.1, and I have encountered zero crashes, a lot of bugs of lower categories, and most memory leaks were fixed but not all (as of 1.0.3). However, my setup runs it on epic settings really well, having 114 fps on average. The lowest I had was ~40 in anomaly-dense areas while searching for artifacts. Setup: RX 7800XT, R5 5600X, 2x16gb 3200. The game is on the system's Samsung 970 EVO. I can say that AI could be better, but at the same time, they shoot so accurately and grenades are used well. Economics is harsh in this game, and I think it is on point. You must never rely solely on mission rewards to maintain yourself. Repairing is expensive, as it should be, buying ammo - as well. Well, you are surviving. If you go all-fat with all the best expensive weapons while fighting zombies or bandits - what can I say? M870 already does really well with bloodsuckers, SPAS-12 obliterates. Not to say expansive ammo. Immersivity of this game is just ... gorgeous. There are already tons of good videos on YT to explain it better than me. But there's a thing that I dislike - no use for sniper rifles or even DMRs. Tho I have the maximum setting for the distance of simulation, it is simply too short. Don't get me wrong: when you are looking far, it is not just a wall of white fog, but there is nothing to snipe. Shooting here is not hitscan, but projectiles, but at such state bullet fall doesn't matter. The bullet speed still does, a bit. At the same time, it does not spoil the experience at all, somehow. I got Ultimate Edition and have 0% of regret. So I recommend this game. Oi, also, shaders compile for long on the very first start. After that, it takes me around 1 minute to start the game.
