SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated

Wanted to post a PSA for anyone looking to buy this: All you need is a 64bit system, which means windows 7 will run it despite the store page saying the minimum requirement is windows 10.

Great game with 60hz+ support

First and foremost, if you've played the original, and still own the original, there is no point to even trying this. Sure, the graphics are new and shiny, albeit with some strange model redesigns, but the audio is the original compressed quality and Mr. Krabs still has an imitation voice over... I just don't see a reason unless you're a complete super-fan. While I did enjoy my time with the remake, I'd avoid it on GOG if you care about achievements. DRM free is always incredible, but the achievements just don't work. Also, if you're buying this because it has multiplayer.. DO NOT! It's nonsensical and just not fun. This is a purely singleplayer experience. 6.8/10 remake.

It's essentially the same Battle For Bikini Bottom game, but with an updated graphics section. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact I appreciate that no plots or other changes have been made. Although maybe it would have been great if the discarded content was included in the single-player mode itself and not in its slightly weak multiplayer. Come on THQ Nordic I need more nickelodeon games, especially Avatar and SpongeBob.

I grew up with the original and I loved the original bfbb. to this day, I still play the original on dolphin emulator. that being said, when this remake was announced, I was very happy to see that this even was a thing. now I got it, drm free and all and it's a pretty good remake. that beng said, this remake has quite a few hiccups which should be adressed in patches. the first thing that comes to mind is the very easy to do, out of bounds glitch. you can do this many ways (which is sad) but ho i figured out how to do this was if you keep jumping out of bounds and wait for the hand to take you away and release you, you can spam the jump button to go higher so if you keep going out of bounds and spamming for abit, you can reach high altitudes and eventually, the hand gives up and you can go out of bounds freely. so a bunch of glitches as well as how geometrey works for example, the tilting platforms in jellyfish fields. these DO NOT WORK AT ALL LIKE THE ORIGINAL and they just spaz out when you try to jump off at the end of them (i'm referring to the long one just before you fight king jellyfish) some moves need sprucining up but the one that really comes to mind is the sliding down slopes segment. the way it controls needs more tweaking to make it feel like the original title. overall, you can see how it was rushed and cut corners. other than the flaws and the lackluster multiplayer which i have not tried yet, this is a faithful remake and I quite enjoy playing it. hopefully this gets dlc with new levels/content and whatnot but I'm not holding my breath.
