Description
Experience a blast from the past with three games from the Space Quest series. As Roger Wilco, a heroic janitor, you're up against screwy space aliens with the fate of the universe in your dishpan hands. Travel with him to exotic worlds, meet strange life forms and laugh yourself silly as you journey through hours of hilarious adventure.
But be aware that dangerous, knee-slapping jokes can be found in every corner of the galaxy!
Includes Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers, Space Quest V: The Next Mutation, Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in The Spinal Frontier
The funniest sci-fi-themed adventure game series ever created
Mop the space ship, scrub the plasma conduits and save the universe!
Witty comedy and fun puzzles. I love the narrator of 4&6. So much personality. 5 is a different kind of game in the series but I really enjoy getting to be the captain. I've played them all a bunch of times.
... this bundle is an incredible package.
Space Quest IV is one of the funnest - and funniest - games of the Space Quest series and takes the HUGE leap to SVGA graphics for the Space Quest series. Space Quest V should appeal to those who enjoy Star Trek parody humor. And Space Quest VI was different than all the rest in just about every regard (other than it's Roger Wilco) - and while different - the Narrator makes the game a blast.
So grab that mop, space janitor, Roger Wilco. There's a universe that needs cleaning up! And you're the person to do it!
While Space Quest 6 is a tad buggy and doesn't particularly follow in the excellent vein of the other Space Quests (probably due to a lack of Rob Lowe), Space Quest 4 and 5 are by far the best Space Quest games available. 4's dark storyline and quirky humour are absolutely fantastic together, while 5's hilarious premise and exceptional characters make it my personal favourite of all the Space Quests. The ability to fly your own spaceship and to play Battlecruiser make this game a ridiculously fun adventure. Also I personally find 5's storyline the peak of the Space Quest humour without a doubt.
Space Quest is a combination of humor, Star Trek an other space TV shows and movies, and adventure game. Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy have created one of the most popular series of adventure games of all time. It's a story in which Roger Wilco, a stereotypical blonde janitor whose name means "Orders received and will comply," wanders throughout the universe often aimlessly and saves the universe, albeit rarely getting any respect.
"Space Quest 4" is one of the greatest adventure games ever created. It's "Space Quest" silliness at its finest. In that game, Roger travels to the future to rescue Xenon from Vohaul (again) and learn more about his future. He also travels to the past. The storyline is "Space Quest" at its finest. The graphics are very well-done. It's brilliant how they use the VGA graphics for the current and future times, but when Roger travels back in time, the game reverts to the old EGA graphics. The music is great. The voice acting is very good, and all of the voice actors are Sierra programmers (not professional actors) except the narrator. And then there's the narrator, Gary Owens, who can make anything funny. It's the first Sierra game with GOOD voice acting ("King's Quest 5" was before this but that game had bad voice acting).
Unfortunately, after "Space Quest 4," the 2 Guys from Andromeda broke up. There were 2 more "Space Quest" games, each created by one guy from Andromeda. However, while they're both solid games, neither game is on par with what the 2 guys created together. It seems the 2 guys disagreed on where to go after "Space Quest 4," seeing as "Space Quest 6" goes out of its way to undo everything that happened in "Space Quest 5," which is a shame. Apparently Mark Crowe wanted Roger to evolve into a respectable human being but Scott Murphy wanted him to remain the same dumb blonde janitor forever.
This is one of the first games I ever played when I was a child, now I'm 18 and I still see just how awesome these games are!
From very funny lines to very challenging puzzles, Space Quest offers what most others cannot, a fun adventure that can be played over and over again.
Though I have to say I never beat Space Quest 4 because it was definitely the hardest out of all of them. I can say that they are all quality titles and I would recommend them to anyone that likes Sci-Fi adventure games.
