SPACE ACCIDENT

This is a puzzle game in the same format as every other puzzle game Whale Rock Games has made. It's all lazer redirection, pressure plates with boxes, and shifting a sliding plate around while trying to move through barriers. Like Portal but without the actual portals, or the story or quality. Most of your gameplay will feel disconnected from what your supposed to be doing. This game has about an Hour of content in here, assuming you backtrack to the beginning halfway through. The story is irrelevant. There are two clicks of the mouse where it looks like you do something related to it and the rest is boxes, lasers and barriers again. Journal entries jump from one to six, if there is a two through five I couldn't find it. Like all other games made by Whale Rock, there is no voices. You get background music, some metal clanging SFX and that's it. Any story is told through a journal entry system, which is easily skippable. Visually this game is okay, for an asset flip. These developers have two box models that they use in every game. If you played Euphoria, Dofamine or any other Sci-fi/ Tech environment, then you've seen this game. This game is too short, unoriginal, and dull to warrant an actual full price purchase.

Demo at best, boring (move boxes one at time from room to room until door opens) and extremely short, 3 puzzles for about 15 min. of game-play, hints at more to come, I was hoping for something like Swapper and got an early April fools joke.

Graphics of machines and computers promise something extraordinary, but are all static objects. Puzzles make no sense - lasers and alien unobtainium balls (instead of just half-permeable mirrors for some reason) on a human spaceship? Gravitation and object physics are completely unnecessary and actually hurt the gameplay - playing unintended soccer with important objects, then searching where they flew is extra annoying. Believe me or not - I managed to trap myself behind the blue field right in the 2nd room because the box fell from the plate! The game ending in that otherwise awesomely designed control room and overall duration cause a huge anticlimax! In overall it looks like meant for something bigger, but left on an early demo stage. Somebody could pick what's there and do something with it.

I don't think this game go through the basic play test, The level design is hard to grasp, making the game unecessary difficult, (like relicta) and when you must point a laser in the right direction you don't even see where you're at ! If you like the theme go for project temporality insteed.

I have to agree with others, that this Game is like a Demo. It is really short, I finished it in 45 minitues while taking my time. Gameplay wise it wants to be like Portal, but without Portals and with Gates. Mechanical the riddles are interesting, but the rooms are not really straightforward. I see people get stuck here having missed some button or badly positioned box. The big problem with this game is, that ideally you want to do a lot of Puzzle Rooms in this kind of Game and this one only has a total of 4. The Story is Simple and only told through 2 Wall of Text Terminal Entrys and 3 Short PDA Texts. It is kind of like "Exposition Who and where you are" -> "Oh Something is Wrong." -> "Plot Twist" -> "You can save us" -> "Please Help me". Lastly I want to talk about Graphics and Sound: The Graphics look good, but aren't extra. Some places the game is a bit too Dark, but that is OK for the mood they wanted to go. The Music and Sound is lackluster. There is little ambient sound and whatever is there is overpowerd by monotone, loude footsteps. Adding to that vomes Background Music that is barely noticable. All in All I get what atmosphere they wanted to go for, but its not there. I got the Game on sale for 90% off. This is the price I recommend to go for if you are a Hardcore Puzzle Game Fan. Everyone else should stay away.
